so me and my fiance have been engaged since November and love the thought of getting married abroad..this being as we are the ones paying we cant afford a n expensive uk do. plus the weather will be so much nicer!!!!. has anybody gotten married abroad and how easy is it to do???

ive never gettin marreid abroad but ino when u look up holidays there is some sites that have wedding packages because ive looked it up myself, we looked at a one in carribean and they done some loverly packages for jus over £1000 but then obviously theres payin for the actual holiday first to get over there..... x

Im getting married in turkey next year and its so much cheaper than the uk (apart from buying the dress, etc) Our package is £625 and that with the holiday part 4 2 weeks is just over 2 grand 4 me h2b and our children, The whole process is easy in turkey from what i have read and heard,but different places require different things. x x

Bumped the official Cyprus thread for you. I don't know if you looked into Cyprus but it's a very popular destination and this thread has tons of info which would probably apply to other weddings abroad. Also bumped Tips for getting married abroad! as well. Good luck :)

We are getting married in Cyprus 16th Oct 2013-Its easy to arrange everything yourself thanks to the internet you can find loads of suppliers! If your not comfortable doing it yourself there are plenty of wedding planners that arrange it all for you for a fee.

Our wedding in the UK would of cost around the 12k mark and as we are paying for it ourselves cant afford that unless we hold it off for 2 years! Our cyprus wedding is costing under 6k and that is with everything!!

Its definately something worth looking into hun

I got married in Vegas 51 weeks ago! It was sooooo simple! We just gave notice at our local registry office and took the blue paper along to the County Clerks Office to get our permission certificate that we had to give to the chapel. Then we turned up and 9 minutes later, we were married! Simple! We then had to wait til we got back to the UK to apply online for our wedding certificate, but that's fine.
It was awesome, simple and so much cheaper than getting married here. Would highly recommend it! x

We're doing Cyprus and so far it has been a breeze. We're using a wedding planner and she is pretty much doing everything for us and we just have to turn up!

Our wedding & reception for 20 guests, 2 week holiday all inclusive and an after party in the UK for 100 guests is coming in just under 6K at last count. For what I would have wanted in the UK I could have never afforded it all.

with r package 2, we get the wedding planner at no extra cost, as well as other things like bouquet, cake, licence, button hole and of course r honeymoon!!!xx

I got married in cyprus, may of this year!!

Its much easier than you would think, especially if you choose somewhere that people on here are going, I had lots of help, advice & tips from this forum.

It can workout very cheap if you book your wedding seperatly to your holiday, thats what i done

I have been organising weddings this year in Greece, so as someone who has never done that before I can tell you it is easy (even though paperwork at first glance might seem daunting!) and I can do it all via email/phone with you.
