Most of the prices will depend on numbers.

And the ceremony price- church or approved premises? If approved premises you'll also have the legal costs, which can be several hundred, plus notice.

All depends on numbers & what venue you found. Also think your suit budget looks a little low, I've had trouble finding them at a reasonable price & cheapest I found would still make yours come to £300 but then you may have found some already at a good cost. All sounds good though. Xx

Mine is well scary up to yours! With your suits I would say it depends where you hire from. For 6 suits ours is coming to £445 so get some quotes where you can as you may find costs creep up to more than you think.

    Looks good though :) xxx

If you are having a dj then the price should be able to be brought down a little but if you want a band then it will be more. Like the girls say the transport is low if you are wanting a rolls or something like that. They are usually around the £3-400 mark. Rings are doable if you shops in places like Argos etc and don't want 18k or a fancy design. (I take it that was for both of them)

The venue price is hard to tell as it depends on how many you have and what kind of venue it is. Most hotels etc charge from £50-70 a head as an average price if that helps you.

I've notcied you haven't got things like giving notice which is about £33.50 per person. You will also have either registry fees on top. I know you have counted £500 for venue and ceremony but some venues will still charge you about £500 just for the room then you have £400 (roughly) of registrar fees. Also the certificate is £3.50

You could find your dress in the sale which would be a bonus but most designer dresses start off at about £800. If you get your accessories from the high street and ebay though you can save a fortune. If you want bridal shoes from a bridal shop you are talking about £50-60 and veils are about £100! Don't forget dress alterations too that can be anything up to about £100!

Decorations can be brought down if you do them yourself and use ebay. It all depends on the kind of venue you have to what you will need.
Don't forget insurance which will be probably about £20 for you budget but shop about for that to get the best price.

    Hiya,

That all sounds very reasonable compared to our budget. Personally the things that cost more that I thought where:-

Flowers:- I thought around £250- well is actually costing £350
Rings:- I thought around £500 - well is actually costing £1,000
    Suite Hire:- I thought around £250 - nope £460
DIY stationary:- I thought would be cheap- £80 I thought:- All in its cost me £110.

So maybe if at all possible have a contingency fund. obviously you dont have to spend that much on various things. But just incase you get your heart set on something, have abit extra put aside.

What I have also found is depending on where you live in the country, cost varies greatly. So hunt the cheapest option. Time consuming but worth it if your number crunching.x

They always say allow 10% of your budget for over spends. What I did when I made up my budget was to ring around local suppliers for general quotes to give me a realistic price to start at. If I then found it cheaper then it was a bonus. Prioritise what is important to you and what you can go without. Do you really need favours/posh place cards etc? Once you have sourced all your important bits you can then work down the list. If you save money you can add something else to it. If you over spend you take off something that is further down the list etc. In the end we managed to cut our estimated budget down with actual costs which allowed us to then get extras like a harpist etc.

I must be the only person where everything has come in lower than i budgeted, so far we're over £1k under budget and our budget at its highest was only £3,800 but then again we're doing it abroad and not having a reception (although i have a feeling our friends will have taken it upon themselves to organise one as they want one and i'm being tight lol)

I agree with the rest of the girls...a little low on some things, especially the venue and ceremony...but of course it all depends on where you are looking at and your numbers. The photographer is doable but you will need to shop around alot and it prob wont include an album, more like photos on discs and about 3 -4 hours of photographs. Good luck with it all!

thanks girls for all your answers sorry its taking ages to reply been at uni then the gym.
well we have found suit hire for £45pp with groom free, there is onli 4 suits need alltogether.
i am having real flowers and the bridesmaids are having false.although maybe making our own for bridesmaids.
transport may not be needed as we are looking to stay at the hotel the day before the wedding.
quest wise we are having 50 adults and maybe 10 kids during the day at max and night time will be around 100 people.
so far places we have looked at more expenive places £30-35pp for day time food although have seen fork buffets for £16pp and night time buffet we will cater for 80 people although if allowed we will do the buffet ourselves.

    Hiya,

Well when you put in individual details like 4 suits, false bridesmaid flowers and transport only the day before to hotel. Then yes, you sound like you got it all planned out.

    Defo barter with people.

I am abit of a naughty girl......In everything I have done, I always bat 2 people off against eachother-

for example:- Venue. I went to see 2. They both quoted the same, but one was liscened to perform wedding but the other wasnt. I wanted a church wedding. So the second venue said-ok coz we cant do the cermony, then knocked £500 off the price. Bonus. We then got it all put in writing and secured the price. The one thing that wasnt even mentioned was the date. When we did this over the phone/in person we said a Nov wedding. So our price was really a novemeber wedding. BUT I was kinda abit sneaky and then went in and said could i change the date to september-and with no extra change it what done- So I am having a Sept wedding for that price of a Nov wedding. I am seriously happy with our price. sometimes feels abit too good to be true. But I have double, trebble checked and he is fine with not charging us extra. So I am one happy lady!! hehehe xxx

entertainment seem right if after DJ... you can get a decent one for that

Venue cost seems low.... we've been quoted 600 just to have the registrar out (but that is Sun)... apparently the norm is around £400.

groomsmen... we are after four and have rec quotes from 400-500.

Cheapest photographer we found for basic package was 650 so not too far off!

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
    start weight 10st 1.5 lbs
    weight now 8st 4.5 lbs
total loss to date: 24.5 lbs now need to maintain!

I would advise against hiring bm dresses. My friend looked into it and found that you have to pay a deposit, the hire charge, and the dry cleaning when your done. If the dress comes back stained or damaged you loose the deposit and I think she said she would have had to pay more. She didn't go for it in the end as she found lovely dresses in the high street for less than the deposit for hire.

Also mens suits - I want my men to have their own suits and will get them for about £75 and they get to wear them again.

    I'm now a married woman
    I have a gorgeous husband
