    Ok stupid question

I'm looking at my first venue on Sunday it seems perfect on the site exactly what Ive always wanted and never thought would be within in my budget. With a few cuts to the guest list and a lovely wedding planner it's looking good price wise.
Thing is if I go on Sunday and love it what happens? Do I pay have to put a chunk of money down on the spot or do venues pencil you in for a couple of weeks til you can get the money? My savings are in a account you have to give notice of 10 days I think before you withdraw any so wouldn't have a massive wad of cash on me lol. Also htb is very much a shop around kind of guy even though I'm sure nothing going to match up to the castle with peacocks and badgers wandering around the grounds lol I really don't wana love it and have to leave without even a provisional booking.

    Aww sound glorious...

I think MOST venues will pencil in and give you a chance to get money together.. but even if you sort of left £50 dep, they have to hold it for you.

hope you fall in love with it straightaway xx

i think most venues will pencil you in for about 2 weeks while you speak to the registrar or whatever (if yu having ceremony there too) but still that gives you plenty of time to decide and get the deposit together.

    hope you love it! xx

We had two weeks from the provisional booking to complete the contract and pay the deposit.

Don't pay anything right away - generally you will have at least 2 weeks to make a deposit on a provisional booking x

we had 1 week to pay a deposit of £500 on our venue.

But they shouldnt expect you to pay there and then, and if you explain to them the situation they will most likely try and help you out.

You cant give notice until 12 months before the wedding - but perhaps you could pencil in your registra.

    Then that should be fine.

depending on your regisatry office you should be able to book them now even if you cant give notice until october. but chat with them and at least if they pencil you in you know you have 2 weeks (hopefully) to get this sorted out. xx
