    right....

me and h2b need to learn how to dance for the 1st dance ... i dont want to do "the classic shuffle" id love to do a proper classic dance like off the king and I when shes in her big dress... after all im a princess on the day!!!

BUT h2b is a bit shy and cant dance and neither can i we have talked about it and hes just said mmm

now i need an idea about how to bribe him so we can learn to dance in the next 8 weeks so we have some idea before the wedding

nothing rude thou as that wont work... he wont have any of that kinda bribing....

anyone one any suggestions on how i can bribe my h2b in to learning to dance??? <clean only pls lol>

    I suggested rude things too.

Why not just explain how important it is to you? Sometimes the straight-forward answer is the best.

We're learning to dance together so we can do a waltz for our first dance.

SAy you have a surprise for him after the wedding if he does the dance (an un-rude one that is) maybe arrange something unusual to do on honeymoon. That way he won't know what he is working towards but he knows it will be good.

I managed to convince my H2B to learn ballroom dancing, because our first dance will be a waltz, basically, he has been watching with me enchanted or other romantic movies, where couples dance, and also when he's home, I put on music I want to have my 1st dance as (waltz not sure which one), and show him video of Enchanted Waltz (that might be our song) and keep telling him about that ballroom class we're going to subscribe at. so after hearing about this for months now, last night, out of the blue he said he wants to learn how to waltz to have our first dance like in Enchanted. I won

Tell him you've been thinking about the wedding day and that moment when your special song is on and all eyes are watching. The First Dance. Say that YOU are a bit nervous about dancing because it's such a special day. Say that you need to have some dancing lessons to put your mind at ease and *please* will he come along? (Of course you've already found the perfect teacher, it's tomorrow night when you know he's already not doing anything.) Then if he's still unsure, remind him how happy and relaxed you will be knowing that it will be fine. And remind him how warm and generous you are when you're feeling happy and relaxed!!

Ha ha, sorry couldn't help being a tiny bit rude!!

H2B and I are planning to learn some tango moves - just for fun - I showed him some fantastic videos online and I talked about how sexy and sensual it was. He was impressed and sometimes we 'pretend' to dance in the kitchen but it is funny because he's so much taller than me and he has big feet and giant strides. I have learned tango argentino before and it is fantastic because it is all about the relationship between dancers. The man leads and guides the woman using his body posture and messages from his hand on the small of her back.

We are also having some dance lessons from our band - who are medieval musicians called Caliban's Dream. We have to because otherwise we would have no idea how to dance our first dance to medieval music!! But it would have been odd to put on some modern music after building up the medieval atmosphere, so we are being brave and trying out something old. It will suit the medieval/ Tudor venue. :-)

i normally infact always get my own way but i just dont think hes comfortable with flinging his body round a dance floor with zero co ordination or grace!!.... thats it mountain climbing, tears, and saying it will look beautiful and people will be impressed and more tears, and suggesting it will be good for him and more tears it is .....

best ask him when he gets back and is jet lagged... might say yes .... if i let him sleep!!! xx

Oh we are learning how to dance and it has been brill. It really has given us both more confidence and will help us on the day to feel more confident in front of everyone. We have an amazing dance teacher that makes it fun and easy to learn. She has even done us a dance routine that I can do with my limited movements. I would say that usually to get a man to do something you have to make him believe it was his idea etc but in this case I think you just need to point out how learning to dance gives you so much more confidence and looks better if you can do a few basic steps. Tell him you are not going for anything fancy and strictly come dancing but enough just to get you around the dance floor. He may find once he gets started he wants to add in something more fancy etc.

Sorry... my head went straight to the gutter.

Possibly treat him for each class? Cook him his favourite meal each time he attends a class? Sneak in something he doesn't like if he disagrees?
A bit of classical conditioning may do the trick perhaps?

My h2b is the most unco-ordinated man you will ever meet (he managed to pinch a nerve in his leg when attempting to mimic my plie in second- the easiest of the plies). He's agreed to learn dance as long as I teach him.
Perhaps you could learn the basics and pass it on to him? So the pressure of embarrassment is taken away

Book it (if you haven't already lol) if its in your own home it should make him feel more relaxed about it. If he knows how much it would mean to you on your wedding day i'm sure he'll go along with it. Like the others have said agree to do something that he likes in return :) x
