ok well..my mum is a professional wedding photographer..has been for 30 years but im her only daughter so decided we didnt want her b eing both photographer and guest etc..so opted for getting someone else to do it!!! she gave me a number of this guy that apparently just starting out..arranged for him to come round and speak and see some of his work..it was quite good and my mum is paying so thought i cant really say nething..didnt confirm it..still havent confirmed it as yet cause wanted to know what my mum was thinking!!! basically he is goin to charge 500 quid and thats basicallyj ust him turning up and a 20 photo preview online!!! no photos, no nothing!!!

soooooo my future sis in law recommended the photographer they havin for their july 2011 wedding so gave him a call and he's popping round on wednesday night. his work is very good and he had a formal gallery of pics and another one for the funnier shots which i really like!! and his package will be 350 for a days coverage and we'll be gettin 25 7 x 5 with that and a online page for oru guests to go look and order...my mum said thats so much better coz she's basically giving us £500 so we can use the further £150 to get more photos , enlargements etc which im realyl pleased about

but how do i go phone the first guy and explain ive found someone better? cause i hate phoning people as it is lol xx

Just fib tell him your mum is going to do it again now but thanks anyway or be brutal and tell him the truth our photographer is just starting out and isn't charging becaus we are only his tenth wedding

your just going to have to phone him and tell him your going another way you don't have to give him detail. If he is a professional he will have to learn to take it and if he has not got a good deal he will have learn how to take rejection a lot. :)

My advice is dont leave it any longer hun..longer u leave it the more difficult it will be and the worst he'll take it as he could have other offers! Id just explain that you cannt afford it, it cannt argue with that!!!x

Have you actually signed a contract or paid him anything yet?

i have had to cancel with a couple of my suppliers and i have just phoned them and told them thank u very much but due to changes in our situation we will no longer be needing their services, good luck hun xx
