How on earth did you & h2b pick for photographer and decide together?

H2b is unsure on who to choose out of the two we found! And im 100% sure on one person! Ive tryed to right a list on things i like about each and what i dont like and doesnt seem to be working!

So if you dont mind telling what 'did it for you both' to choose your photographer?

It would be A HUGE help! Thankyou x

Ours was quite easy. Simply put, we hit it off the minute we met, and she ticked all the boxes. She simply loves what she does, her work is fantastic, and she accounts for every detail! Add that to he fact that shes treats every wedding individually, and tailors herself to our needs, and you're onto a winner!

Personally, I do feel that women tend to be that way inclined more so than men do (with a few exeptions I'm sure).

I also have a link on how NOT to shoot a wedding, to give you some idea!

i have just this week had a meeting with the 2 i like still couldn't choose the styles were about the same so i emailed them both and explained i was finding it hard to pick. told one the other was a bit cheaper (which he was though got a little less in package) and told him she had a pre-wedding shoot in her package with a framed picture so how much extra would it be to included in his package. He mailed me back today to say he will include the pre-wedding shoot for free (normally £200) and would also include 4 10x8 prints of my choose from my wedding pictures as well as the package he usually does.

so looks like i'm off with him plus he was the one i liked the most anyway he sets up a mini photo shoot in the evening and people go in to have some fun shots done to add to the back of the wedding album looks really good its his take on the photo booth idea .

so if i was you i would do the same meet with them both and see what extra you can get included

One is doing more than the other if that makes sence,

    1) shes doing 4 hours £235 and a cd with copy right
    2) hes doing 3 hours £300 also a cd with copy right

I like him better because he does the kind of wedding photography i like and plus he has already done a wedding at both of venues before. (H2b isnt sure) and his reviews are 10 out of 10

Shes ok not over keen on some of her photos never done our venues before, some pictures were good others wernt, when we ment didnt think she wasnt over confidant and i hated her photo albums! Have seen any reviews anywhere for her, All i know is she does alot of baby photos etc.

Finding it so hard to convince h2b

honestly, I googled and emailed loads of photographers and only found a couple within our budget. THEN someone knocked on our door - they live 2 doors down and are professional photographers, our neighbour had mentioned to them that we were looking for someone and they came to introduce themselves. They brought a load of albums round to our house for us to look through and we got on really well with them so booked them straight away xx

We went to wedding fayres and had a look at the work on display and we also had some recommended by our other vendors. In the end we went with the one our florist recommended and he gave a discount for being transferred by them! excellent, his work is amazing and he gave a good package. Prep up until first dance, him and an assistant, pre wedding shoot, a kenzo album, and 6 small albums for our families, all photos taken on a disk with copyright. It helps that H2B's hobby is phtography so he knew what he wanted. So we looked at ALOT of photographers!

I fell in love with the style of photo's from a particular photographer, contacted him and found out he was waay out over our budget, I then cheekily asked if he could recommend anyone with a similar style for a cheaper price. Very much to my suprise he came back to me with the details of his old assistant, who had recently set up on her own.
When I contacted her I found out she was much cheaper and had actually taken the photos that I loved the most!
    Win!

Tbh, we booked a load of appointment meetings and basically saw 3 on one day and one the day after, - there was one we thought was a complete drip, another two we were ok with and pretty much comfortable with booking one over the other, then we met one and the meeting was over in 25 minutes, and we both just got really good vibes from him! I think it's a mix of personality and what you think of the albums they bring to you, as well as price and length of coverage - I'd suggest meeting up with a couple more and seeing how you feel, if they feel right you'll know :-)

it was a no brainer for us. We hate photos and a work friend of mine basically cut 600 off his price for us. H2b agreed it was too good of a deal to pass up but he would tend to let me have my way with things like this

We went to wedding fairs and found some then looked into them. In the end we met them with our kids and it was basically who we got on with and if they could get on with the kids (there will be quite a few at our wedding). Plus price came into it as we dont have a huge budget x

I’m on a tight budget so emailed every photographer I could to see which ones I could afford and then chose my favourite from that list. I looked through all their online albums, their fb pages and reviews on forums before deciding who to meet. Then I met with 2 and looked at their albums and chose who I liked when meeting them and the albums I preferred.

Can you go through all their online albums?seeing actual whole weddings might help you decide?x

Our wedding venue recommended our photographer as he knows the castle inside out and he is also very easy to talk to and he has also worked with my Reverend and piper.

we asked around friends and family who got married recently. Had a look at their websites and any other recommendations. We had a meeting with one who we like the most. He brought loads of different types of albums showing the different coverage. We wanted to book him on the spot but he refused to take our money!!! he said he'd hold the date but also said it's easy to get caught up in the emotion and get carried away so gave us a fortnight to think about it. After then I rang him and I sent a cheque for the holding fee and he sent a contract back. He was just so laid back and relaxed, told us everything he'd be doing in the run up to the wedding, on the day and afterwards. He made a point of showing us pictures he'd done from previous weddings at our venue as well so he already has some good ideas on where to take piccies :) x

We found ours through a friend who got married recently, she brought round her albums and her photos were AMAZING!!! He wasn't cheap we paid like £1600, but his work is awesome, I've never seen anything like it, and wen we did our engagement shoot the photos were just awesme! plus he was easy to get on with and relaxed about the whole thing, not weird or smelled funny like some other photographers we spoke to at wedding fair
