Wedding Forum - How did you meet your H2B?...

My h2b used to be a door man in our local club, he'd seen me in there a few times and tried to get my number off a couple of my friends but I wouldn't let them give it to him (not sure why I think I just assumed he was like every other local lad and I wasn't interested in that) he also tried to add me on FB but I declined that too. Then I went out one night and got completely plastered, I ended up ringing my bro to tell him he had to come up for breakfast right away (we were in a city 30 mins away from town), he told me he couldn't he was at work (he worked behind the bar in our local club) but he had someone who wanted to talk to me, he put some guy on the phone and I asked who the hell he was, he told me he was my bro's best mate and I went off on one at him told him he wasn't my bro's best mate someone else was, that I didn't want to talk to him and to give the phone back to my bro (along with an earful of abuse). When I sobered up and realised how rude I was I thought I best apologise to this guy so rang my bro to ask his name, then sent him a message via fb to apologise, we got chatting and I agreed to meet him the next day.... we now have a beautiful 2 year old together and are planning our wedding in 2017.... Oh and my bro may not have considered h2b to be much more than a work friend at the time of that phone call, but they're best mates now!! Funny how things work out

Everything happened very unexpectedly and very quick for us......

We both love boxing and my H2Bs work colleague is a boxer and so he was going to the boxing match in Sheffield.
My friend and her husband (who also works with H2B) had tickets and invited me along...... My friends husband said 'Emma, there will be single lads there' wink wink.... To which I replied, I'm not interested. I just want a good night out and a good dance lol.....
Anyways, after almost cancelling due to childcare issues Friday 9th May 2014 arrived and we got glammed up to watch the boxing in Sheffield. We all met at the arranged pub for pre match drinks and I saw H2B and said to my friend, ' he is hot and look at his body' (I've got no class lol) 6'4 and 19st of muscle....heaven!!

Anyways, I didn't think he was interested as he was quite stand off ish and never really indicated that he liked me but unbeknown to me, he signalled to his mate across the pub, check her left hand for a ring!!

Our friend won the boxing match and we went into the city drinking and after lots of alcohol and shots we got chatting. I actually made the first move and kissed him thanking him for the drinks he bought me and well, what can I say other than the rest is history......

I never believed after 2 years of being single that 'The one' existed. How wrong was I?! He's my best friend, soul mate and the man of my dreams xx everything happens for a reason and I truely believe it was fate. I almost cancelled going that night but despite the problems, I went and I'm sooooo glad I did. xx

total fate brought us together at the right time, I wanted a new life and the min i saw a old army truck online i shouted Lovebug!! i had to have her.. i knew she was the key to my new life full of happiness.. everyone thought i was mad.. but i was estatic, so bought this old army truck converted it into a pink palace on wheels suitable to live in, on my test drive to a random festival, I broke down and a couple come over to see if i ok and they asked me if I had ever been to Totnes, I said no, wheres that? they said its in Devon and that I had to go there, they could see me living there.. I said ok, cool, i have never heard of it but yes cool I will .... i then spent the summer as planned going festival to festival on my own partying, meeting people and working out where to move to, i moved to Bristol living in my truck and after a year in briz i said that's it , i leaving, i going to Totnes to see whats there for me, i was so excited about going !! 3 days after rolling in to Totnes, i was walking down street with headphones on and a super sexy guy tapped me on shoulder and say hey, what you up to , i said nothing , just going for a walk, he said fancy a pint.. yes please ! and straight away if felt like he one of my best friends, like i had known him all my life !! basically he had seen me from afar in a pub 2 days before but i was walking out , then this Saturday he drove up through town saw me , and said theres that red head girl, so drove quick as he could to a car park dumped his van and ran down the road after me.. but made out to me he was casually walking past.. .. so cut a super long story short , we were inseperable for a couple of months just as good friends (i didn't want to get caught up in a something if wasn't the right one), then suddenly oneday i looked up and realised i was super in love with him and knew i wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, 2 days later I told him and he said he was super in love with me too and we said we want to have each others babies , so we never used contraception from day one, within 2 weeks I had moved in with him in a big beautiful pink house that he shared with his mum and 6 months later I was pregnant and our amazing daughter has just had her 2nd birthday :) sorry its a long story... x

I met my OH nearly 10 years ago to begin with, we had mutual friends and he often popped into my work place as i worked for one of our mutual friends at the time, but never did I think we I would end up marrying him! lol

I had not seen him for a good 5 years and we started chatting on the book of face after not seeing each other for so long, we were both single and got on great so we arranged to go on a date, that was the 16th August 2012 and from that date we haven't been apart! Xx

I met my h2b when we were 15. He was the paperboy where we lived, I had seen him when I was hanging out with friends a few times but never spoke to him, then I went to the beach with my friend and he was there, he asked for my number so I gave it to him, a week later he asked me out and we've been together ever since.

over the next couple of years we would occasionally bump in to each other with our ex's but never thought much of it.

When I was 23, single and with a 10 month old daughter i had arranged to go on a date with a guy i met in a bar. He text to say he wan't feeling too well and ask if we could rearrange. I looked at my phone and my h2b had text me a couple of days before asking if i wanted to go for a catch up drink. I text him and we went, JUST AS FRIENDS i keep telling him but after that night we was inseparable!!

My parents met in IBIZA IN 1986 and are still together, holiday romances can last!!!

First date was a civilised coffee which an hour later turned into going the pub to watch the 6 nations (we both used to play rugby).

I met my h2b online, only met up with him because I was adimant I'd seen him around close to my home. My intuition was right as he lives in the house across the road to mine lol. We've hardly been apart since meeting :) x

Oh added me on book face while I was dating one of his friends then when we split up pounced and said he always had that intention .. How lovely and romantic .. Not lol

My oh and I met at uni in freshers week in the student union night club- 'eden' I was with the girls and thought he was hot, he came over and we started chatting, he went to the bar to buy me a drink, then he said, "I've only got enough for a drink for myself and bus fair home lol! I bought the drinks! Turned out we lived in the same halls anyway- we didn't see each other again, then a random Monday night 25th oct 1999 I went to the halls bar, he was there, I didn't see him , but he came up to me with a drink and said' I believe I owe you a bottle of red' the rest is history :-) xx

I met my OH through online dating. I was about to give up and have vowed he was going to be my last date as I'd had 19 online dates, but just not met anybody who I felt I had that spark/connection with. I arranged to meet him in Brighton outside ***800t5 (!!!) I got there a bit early so went inside. As soon as I saw him in the flesh (!!) a little voice in my head just said "yes!" All of the other dates I'd been on, had been a no! I thought he was gorgeous, we had a lovely afteroon, we walked back to the station, he went for his train and I went for mine and before our trains had parted (we lived 60 miles apart) he had sent me a message saying he really wanted to see me again. It all went from there really!

My Dad was dying of cancer. He was a mod/skin head and was part of the local scooter club. His scooter was his pride and joy! I arranged for the club to surprise my Dad with a ride out because he was heartbroken he'd never be able to ride his scooter again. I videoed them coming around the corner at my Dad's house and his reaction. It was priceless! Posted the video on ****book face and OH saw it. He is also part of the scooter club. He says he fell in love with me as soon as he heard my crying voice on the video becuase he could tell I had a good heart! He messaged me on *** book face and asked me for a drink. He didn't think I'd say yes because he has 9 gold teeth, covered in tattoos, and walks with a walking stick. To be honest... it's the fact that he's 'different' that attracted me to him.

You're so right Becci. I honestly believe my Mum sent him to me because she knew I would need my soul mate to get me through. He has turned what should be the worst time of my life into the best time of my life. I dread to think where I would be now without him.

I met my fiancée at work, he came on a temporary basis (he moved 100 miles to take the job temporarily) and it wasn't until his last day with us that we actually started talking and there seemed to be a spark. He moved back home and we started messaging on bookface for a while and then he travelled all the way to spend one evening with me and all the way back again. We decided we wanted to give it a go, even though it would be long distance. He came to stay with me for a weekend about 4 weeks later and whilst he was staying, he got a call from my office asking if he would like to come back permanently. He happily accepted and came to live with me. That was 3.5 years ago and we're getting married in 7 months :) x x

Another online dating success here too.

I had seperated from my ex the summer before and was back living with my parents. My time was spent travelling (by train) to see my kids down south, at work or in my room on my x-box... and I was getting depressed. I had this lightning bolt idea that I should go on some dates to meet people. I signed up for a free one (as I was broke) and within a few days got talking to R. A week later he was passing through with work so we met up for food - I talked loads, he listened. Arranged another meet up a week later (for my birthday) which nearly fell through due to his work over-running. I suggested instead of getting food, he should pick me up anyway and I come back to his (80 miles north of where I lived) and he went with it (something he would not normally do). We stayed up and talked all night. The next day was my actual birthday and I spent it at his while he was at work. I cooked him Chilli Con Carne for dinner from scratch and it obviously worked (thy do say the way to a mans heart is through his stomach haha) as that night we had our first kiss and we decided to make a go of us. 10 weeks later I moved in and haven't looked back.
