Myself & h2b are off to our reception venue tommrow to give them what sort of food we want!
Were thinking about having a buffet Or a bbq (No sit down meal) The buffet hasnt really got anything great on it, Not alot that i like too. Where the bbq is perfect, H2b and myself love bbq's! But the thing we are thinking about is our guests, I have few fussy eaters in my family, H2bs is fine food wise.
So the question is did you and your h2b choose what you want? Or what you thought your guests would like.

Mine was a bit of both to tell you the truth. My dad cant eat poultry and i cant eat fish so that was chicken and salmon out straight away. We ended up going for pork but this was the menu that h2b liked most anyway xxx

We chose what we wanted. We're paying . A BBQ sounds great though. If we had been having an evening do we would have also had either a BBQ or a hog roast....But as its just an afternoon wedding with no evening reception, we are having a sit-down meal. I didnt give a nano seconds thought to what my guests might prefer....
I can resist anything but temptation

Bit of both - we wanted options people would enjoy as I'd grudge spending all that money for the guests to leave it, so we went for middle of the road crowd pleasers which we both love anyway x

We chose the most expensive menu out of the choices we had, and if they don't like that......Well they would be pretty hard to please. Its really not like me to do that....I usually go for the cheapest.
who does not like bbq's lol , im having sit down meal for the day guests and then a bbq and hog roast with sides for the evening , im sure you guests will enjoy anything you will provide as they will be there for your special day x

We're having fish and chip supper (getting married on a Friday!) at 5:30pm for our 50 day guests and then an evening buffet both hot and cold. Doing what we want and if people don't like it they can starve lol. Would have loved a hog roast though - amazing! xx

We're having a carvery for the WB, and a buffet for the evening reception. Like you, we are thinking about our guests, we think it's the only safe option to be honest. We have a choice of three meats, plus a veggie option.

We are having bbq, which has veggie options for the wedding breakfast. Then in the evening we are having cheese, biscuits and chutneys. Cheaper option. The package is brilliant Sausages- sweet chill, cumberland and cant remember the other Veggie sausages and burgers Burgers Chicken wings- plain and spicy Ribs Prawn skewers Veg skewers And we get to choose two salad dishes £600 for 60 people

That's excellent!

We are still having it as a sit down so I can still decorate tables and makes doing speeches easier....and so on. but a bbq will make it less formal, which is the atmosphere we are going for. Also we are working with a tight budget and unless you pay a lot of money we didnt want to end up with a mushy cold dinner that nobody ends up eating. Who doesnt like a bbq.

We had a few choices, all of which were a bit too fancy for us to be honest ! H2b is a very 'plain' eater so doesn't like all veg/sauces etc Lol. So we ended up asking for steak pie!! Nice homely meal that we'll all enjoy :) Xx

We asked for a full list of options for the meal, and we picked what we would like, including a few vegetarian options too :-)

BBQ is a brilliant idea! We've got formal 5 course sit down meal during the day and bacon sarnies (and veggie alternatives) in the evening, but if BBQ was an option I'd have def had that! xx

We're having afternoon tea. It was a fairly easy decision as we didn't want any kind of formality, definitely not a sit down meal! We've been to wedding with sit down meals, BBQs, hog roasts, and buffets and we we wanted to do something different, seeing as I adore afternoon tea the choice was made.
If only life could be one long tea break

Our venue gave us a choice of 9 starters and 9 main courses - and we had to choose 5 of each to offer the guests. We tried to choose a mix of a few meat dishes (steak, roast beef, chicken), a fish dish and a vegetarian/salad option. For the starter we just tried to choose a varied choice with one including haggis as we got married in Scotland lol.

We are having:
Cream of Tomato soup for starters
Chicken breast, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, veg and gravy for main
3 mini cheesecakes (choc, lemon and vanilla) for desert.
Easy to choose once we decided as most people like these options :)
