    other rant sorry girls

A couple of weeks ago some of you may remember my rant about my jealous sister not wanting anything to do with my little boy or wanting to know anything about my wedding altho I was trying to involve her
because she was jealous as I am the younger sister and she wasn't getting want she wanted from her relationship I.e children and marriage
on the same day I made that post she sent a text saying he had finally popped the question and they were in engaged
when i heard this I was really pleased and thought this may help thing between us as would make us have something in common again
    but noooooooooo

she told me in june she was busy all this month therefore could not come wedding dress shopping with me and my other sister
then today I texted to ask how she was and did she have many plans for the weekend
    to be told

she is venues and wedding dress hunting to day (which annoyed me as obv didnt have plans all sept afterall cos only got engaged 3 weeks ago)

I let this go and said thats great have you set a date????
    her answer
no not exactly date but hopefully early next year!!!!!!
    in other words... before mine!!!!

we have a lot of family that will have to travel over from ireland for wedding and I know will not be able to afford both so close together
so therefore cos hers is first will be mine they won't be able to attend
    am so angry!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Well, they will know that yours was planned first. If you've got most stuff booked (venue, time, registrar/minister, etc.) I'd get my invites out.

I think it's very sad that she feels she has to be like that

I had a similar thing happen with someone in Steves family, with our first set of wedding plans, so I know how frustrating it can be. In my case tho a year after we set our date she decided to set their date for 6 weeks before our wedding, but they didnt stop there! They had their eye on a hotel wedding, but soon after we paid a deposit they changed their minds and chose the same venue as ours.

yup all the guest list was basically the same. when she found we were going to have a xmas theme she decided to have a major fireworks display, canon fire and her grand entrance on horse back. Quite funny know I look back. However now we have changed our plans not because of her but family trying to take over ...were getting married in Cyprus now and they are at last count £8k over budget!

Stevie that's dreadful! I'd have gone insane at first but you've got the last laugh now ey?
My friend's sister has recently done this. He's getting married at the beginning of April, and I'm getting married 2 weeks later. All of a sudden his sister (who is a year younger than me) met some bloke on the internet, got engaged and set the date within 4 weeks! He went insane and uninvited her from his, and now she's decided to 'have a change of heart' and set the date for later on next year, after his big day. She didn't think people would see how spiteful she was being - everyone was a bit disgusted at how pathetic it was! Everyone knows you've been planning your day hon, and i wouldn't worry about them going to hers instead of yours! x

Yeah I have read quite a few of these types of things. Your not the first hun, there seem to be a few that are intent on setting out to outdo other people's big days. Don't let it get to you. Remember that you are marrying the man of your dreams and your wedding will be unique to you. I am sure your guests will see through your sisters plans. xx

aw i totally understand how you feel! my h2bs dad proposed to his girlfriend 2 weeks ago and i was kinda hoping that they would wait til after our wedding but they are getting married in April :-( its only gonna be a quiet one but i do feel a bit like theyve stolen my glory (sounds selfish i know) The biggest worry I've got is that they might ask our 3 yr old twins to be their page boys when we were really hoping that they would be ours before anyones :-/ just gonna have to grin n bear it tho i guess! just think that at least youve got more time to plan your big day xx

Why don't you sit down n tlk with her n maybe suggest getting married close together I know it sounds strange but then all the ppl from Ireland can come to both in one go. I did 4his with my brother he decided to get married after a year of meeting this girl n was at first going to pick the same date (thats going bit too far as our dad would be torn between two of his children) so when he came round recently I suggested getting married in the same two week period as we havw a brother in Australia who had said he will b at my wedding but realistically can't do both if spaced apart
