So I was thinking last night that we've sorted (well h2b has) how I'm getting the the wedding but what about him? I know the best man is supposed to get him there but I feel kinda guilty that I'll have a special grand entrance and he'll get driven in his mates car.

Has anyone organised a special car for their grooms?

If budget would allow, I would have, but no he is going with his parents as he will be getting ready at theirs the morning of the wedding. Obviously when we leave the church he will be in the wedding car with me so we will turn up to the reception together in the wedding car. Normally the groom arrives before the guests anyway, so there is no need for a grand entrance, as not many people will see it! xxx

Yeah I guess. I just think that he should have a little bit of luxury too.

I'm terrible. I hate the fact that the whole day is supposed to be about me! lol.

I really dont care how I arrive so long as its clean, though in an ideal world I'd come in a yellow vw campervan! The groom on the other hand is actually excited by cars and would like to hire a sports car out for his transport! x

It's not for def yet but Ive got Our wedding car and the hotel the night before and he has his parents house and his parents car :-(
so I wanted something for him my choices
1, something fast and funky......needed a 2k deposit errrrr no
2, Helicopter...........our wedding venue have a picture of one on their homepage so Ive asked for its details and a discount as booking so far in advance...........awaiting their reply hehehe

If over budget my sister and BIL own a vw camper van business so I'm sure if I ask very nicely ;-)

The bridesmaids are going in my sisters vw beetle convertable which shes driving so BIL might as well get in on the action and drive h2b and best man ;-)

Love the vintage bus idea...would have liked to do that ourselves but the drive up to our venue is too narrow to accomodate it and we live on a culdesac with not enough turning space for a bus! H2b said that if he had to walk to the main rd to get the bus (which is what he would have to do) then he might as well walk all the way (its only the same distance again to the church) and so that is exactly what he is going to do lol. I am going to give him a lift back to the wedding reception in the wedding car xxx

My h2b will be getting the train I think, if it's delayed then his dad will take him. I'll be walking down as it's only 100metres (ish) from the hotel I'm staying in. Then we're getting the train to the evening reception, I've asked guests to join us - keeping it eco.

H2b is getting a taxi. He's ok with that but his work mates have been teasing him. I'm not paying for a decent car when nobody will see him, so was hoping to find a taxi company that will guarantee he gets a nice clean cab!

A local taxi company actually has a really fancy Mercedes that you can book and pay double fare but I have inquired and had no reply :-(

I'm staying in the hotel where we're getting married so walking to the ceremony, he's going to get a lift in. As much as we would like to have had fancy cars, the cost couldn't be justified and I'd rather put that money behind the bar. As long as he gets to me I'm happy. He can hop on a skateboard if he really wants.

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013

H2b will be putting the finishing touches to our reception venue the morning of the wedding so he and his best man will be getting changed there and then hopping a taxi, a whole 5 minutes journey down the road to our ceremony. He loves the idea as it means he can get the bar keys (its a navy base) and have a drop of dutch courage before he goes!

Our car hire covered multiple trips, so it picked up him and the best man to take them to the church an hour before (to check register etc) then it came to collect me from my mum's place, before taking us both to the reception afterwards :-)

I'm staying at our venue the night before with my mum and bridesmaids as its my birthday, H2b was going to hire a limo or something but they are about £300 so he said he wasnt going to bother he would just go in his bestmans car. I am thinking that i might hire him a limo though as a suprise but then i am thinking there are soo many other things i could buy him with that money and more people would see it lol. But then i want him to feel special on our special day too...... decisions decisions lol xx

my h2b can't decide. I thought he'd be staying with his best man and his wie at their house. I know they'd look after him and she'd make sure he had a good breakfast. Was thinking of getting the wedding car to drive them down first before coming to pick me up. afterall we are paying for the car and have it the whole day yet seems llike we'll only be doing 1 journey in it!. h2b keeps mentioning that he wants to stay over in the hotel the night before though. But he'll be on his own as can't really expect his best man to fork out an extra night for them to stay the night before. I'll keep working on him lol x

I've no idea, not thought that far ahead tbh.

I reckon he'll drive to the reception venue where we will stay the night of the wedding .............he'll probably drive down with his best man and ushers in the morning. Then I would suggest they all just took a cab to the Church as they will all come back to the reception from the Church in the two wedding cars we've hired. H2B with me obviously and then all the groomsmen, my family and BM in the support car.

    xx
