im getting married the day he proposed but if i didnt get that it would prob b my mums birthday/annaversary which was the 28th of feb my dad phoned her on her birthday and said he never bought her anythin she was so made she hung up on him when he phoned again he said dont b stupid were gettin married today he had organised everythin my dad didnt seem like the type to do that when i was growing up but when he got ill that side of him came out thats y i wanted that day <3 im memorie of them both :) xx

I wanted a Friday so it didn't clash with any football and would be cheaper. I'm bad with dates so it had to be near another easy to remember date. It needed to be at least 1 1/2 years from his proposing due to finances. I originally chose 4th November 2011, ticked all of the boxes. When I went to put it in the diary I accidently went to the following week and realised that would be even better. Spoke to H2B and moved our wedding date back 1 week to Friday 11th November 2011. Even I can't forget that!

Well I wanted an autumn wedding and H2B wanted early spring so we compromised and chose June as a month. I wanted a midweek wedding to save money so H2B chose Wednesday. Then we looked at the possible wednesdays in June next year and settled on 6th so we miss the football! I'd hate our guests to be worried about checking the score all day!
all my family got married in july and so we chose the 14th and i then dound out my great nan got married on the 14th :)

I always liked the idea of a September wedding cos I love that time of year, and we met on the 30th, and the 29th is the Saturday before we met, so the day after we marry will be our 5 year anniversary! It was actually my mum that pointed that out to us too!

Ours in 6th August because I work in a school and we wanted a date that we'd be able to have a honeymoon afterwards - so chose the summer holidays as it gives us enough time to get married, enjoy a honeymoon - and still have some time when we get back to chill and enjoy married life before we have to go back to work.
H2b works for the NHS so has had to request extra holiday as he is only supposed to use 2 weeks in the summer and 2 weeks in the winter (but he's now allowed 4 weeks in August).
We chose a Saturday because it's easier for guests to come as they're more likely to have the weekend off work - especially as we're getting married 130 miles from home lol.

There are some fab reasons on here. We've chosen 19 11 2011. No particular reason. We wanted a winter wedding. It's three days before my birthday so I've told H2B it'll be the most expensive week of his life! xx

Steve wanted us to get married this year, not too long before Christmas but not actually in December, and a Friday because it would be cheaper... and when we looked at dates in November, because of when we have Steve's son we had 2 dates available to us, the 4th and the 11th - but because 11th is Remembrance day and he comes from a military family we couldn't go for that (even though it would have then been easy to remember - 11/11/11)... so we were left with 4th November. We have since had it pointed out to us that it's mischievous night which also works out pretty well for us since we both have a really wicked sense of humour :P

we wanted early Aug as a teacher so I need to leave enough time to allow for decent honeymoon. We were limited by Venues as most venues have minimum numbers for fri, sat and sun and the venue we fell in love with, luckily we could stretch to sundays minimum numbers.... therefore we went with 5th Aug. Also mum always never celebrates her b.day on 4th as we lost our dad a few yrs back on 3rd so this way she is actually looking forward to b.day as we will stay over and enjoy a spa day on her b,day which is the day before

ArmyWag - Love your reason! I know we can't guarantee the weather in this country but we would like it to be warmer! When we do decide on a venue we have 5 saturdays to choose from, so hopefully one of those dates will be free.

H2b and I looked at bank holidays in 2012 then realised that June had the Jubilee and that my late grandads bday was 1st June which is a Friday, this means that everyone gets 5 days off work as the Mon and Tues are bank holidays lol how romantic are we lol xx

originally we were getting married 30 april 2011 which is 10 years to the day we met, but after putting it back i chose 8th october, 2011 as its the weekend before my darling grandads 91st birthday (oct 10) and as he is in poor health and cannot attend it was my tribute to him and im sure he will be included in the toast!

We chose ours because we wanted a late afternoon wedding and therefore wanted it to be light in the evening - originally it was 21st June 2013, but as that's a friday it's a bit of a nightmare for people to get time off (Especially friends who are teachers), so gone for 22nd instead. Although we are not exclusively tied to it - if our venue gets a booking before we get a chance to finalise everything, we're happy to change. x

We've chosen 20th August 2012 because it fits in with H2B's work rota, we want to take our daughter to Disneyland before the wedding & have a few days to Honeymoon in Scotland afterwards. Can't wait!!! xXx

Originally we were gonna have our date were we got together it was available but to expensive for us so decided to postpone to 23.10.2013 coz its only six month and three days later and easy to remember I guess u can see what I mean :-P

We wanted the weather to be half decent (optimistic in this country!) and on a saturday as we have guests coming from all over and didn't want them to worry about getting time off work, but H2B plays cricket late april - early september so we decided on the first saturday after the season finishes - 17th September - hoping for an indian summer! However, after booking we realised H2B had got his dates wrong and the 17th is actually the last game of the season - d'oh!

Our choice is purely practical. It's 2014 as we need to save enough for a deposit on a property, and I won't be working until Sept 2012, so 2 years should give me enough time to get my half of the deposit together. I'll be teaching, so our only option was the summer holidays as we wanted to go on honeymoon after.
We plumped for Saturday 2nd August; it will give me a week beforehand to finalise things as I'll have broken up for summer, and it means we can fly out on honeymoon uo to a week later and still be able to go for up to 3 weeks.
We picked a Saturday as we felt it would be easier for our guests and it just felt right to have it on a Saturday.
I'd love to have married on our anniversary, but it's the 22nd November, so wouldn't have been possible with me teaching. Plus I've always wanted a summer wedding, and having a summer wedding means we'll be able to celebrate our anniversaries while I'm off work :-)

We are moving to america in a few years and thought when we have kids halloween is gonna be a big deal so we will never get an anniversary...so far we have never had a proper anniversary cos i like goin out and he dosent!!! so we decided to move it so now we are gettin married on 25th october!

We had already decided 2012 and I looked at all saturdays with bank holidays attached and realised that the 2nd June had a double bank holiday for the queen's jubilee and luckily we got our 1st choice! Unfortunately it has meant getting married earlier than planned at 12, as there is another couple after us! xx
