I've got a bit of a quandry... Here's the background...
We are getting married in just over 12 months. We have just had a meeting with the wedding co-ordinators at the hotel where we are having ceremony, meal and evening. Our wedding is on a Thursday, and they have told us they have weddings booked the days before and after ours, so the hotel will be busy. The hotel is an hours drive from our house, and even further from our families, and lots of guests coming from all over the country. Lots of our guests have said they would like to stay the night before and after the wedding, and we have been advised that people should book asap to ensure they have a room. They can book anytime from now. The hotel sent us little cards to put in the invites with the discount code on for guests to claim discount and book for the wedding.
We weren't planning on sending invites til much nearer to the wedding, but need guests to have the booking info asap. If we sent save the dates this month with 12 month's notice for the wedding, should we include the booking info for the hotel??!! Or should we just send the full invites now with all the info in??!!
What's the etiquette? I'm confused!!!

It's good of the hotel to advise you of the other weddings. I'd send an info card with a few places, your venue plus maybe one or 2 others on there. Just pop a note at the bottom saying due to other functions rooms are getting booked up. After that leave it to them. If they don't book in time and miss out it's their fault x

I'd just send Save the dates with info now so anyone that wants can book! Might become a problem to get rooms otherwise and it's a Thursday! xx
WARNING:
I say the first thing I think of!

If its going to be busy like she said it is then I would send the hotel info with the save the dates, then the guest cant moan that they wasnt given enough notice. Its then up to them whether they book or not x
i'd send this with the save the dates too - i think i may need to do the same to be fair. then you've done your part at letting them know and if they're too slow or whatever then its their issue then x

I agree, as the hotel have told you that there are functions on the days either side of yours I'd send the hotel info with your save the date cards. You can include it again with the invitations when you send them.
We had an issue with our hotel getting booked quickly, luckily I had asked them to hold a number of rooms for me and then when people said that they couldn't get booked in I just emailed their names to the manager who then took the rooms from our block booking.

I agree, send the info with the Save the Dates to give your guests the best chance of booking their hotel places. I sent my save the dates out and got loads of phone calls asking where it was etc so they could see if they could afford to go!

I agree with all the other girls, as that way you know people are sorted, plus less likely to have anybody moaning nearer the time about accommodation. We sent the details with our save the dates x

Thanks girls!!! That's decided then, I'll send them with the STDs! I've asked to hotel to reserve enough rooms before and after for the bridal party but it's other guests I'm worried about. Phew! that's sorted then! :o)
