i love this idea, but then i'm also a horse lover!! however i'm not having one as the journey's already half hour in a car! my aunt had like a horse-drawn bus and the tailbacks were horrendous!!! felt so sorry for the drivers behind us - and she actually made the groom late as he got caught in the queues!!! x

When we looked into having one they were £800!!! Thats with one horse. I'd always dreamed of having a horse and carriage but when it came to the crunch I realised i'm actually really uncomfortable close up to them! Ah well we've got a pink vw convertable Beetle instead!!! x
is Mrs Suzie Bear!!!!
Gotta be pink!!! :0)
I think I blinked and missed our wedding!! lol
Ha ha thanks luvlifejen! I've always wanted a vw beetle and think it's a bit quirky for a wedding car! lol Plus was so reasonably priced too :0)

Im having a horse and carriage-I cant wait!!!! I love horses so it's even more exciting for me. It cost me £200 instead of £480 the car company wanted!!! I think it does just depend on where you live on the price x

I would love one but i would only get one if i had a big wedding and i dont want a big wedding so there really is no point me having one
Cant wait to to marry Martyn
Wishes the wedding would come faster

I'd love that but its an hours journey in the car as it is and that's up a motorway for part of the journey.
Plus a car won't pee and poo at any time (especially when being filmed/photographed).
The days are flying by, can't wait :)

I don't think you have to be a horse lover! Not my thing, but if you want it, go for it :)

Hi i think the avarage price is around the £500 mark, i live in kent and know loads of people offering horse and carrige, also my H2B is in the household cavalry i know they do weddings all over the place at around £350, not sure who you'd need to talk to as he's arranging it all for us. i can find out if you like.

I looked into it but you have to consider things like distance. The horse will only walk a couple of miles at most ( or most of them state there are limits) The venues also can be funny about poo etc and you have to make sure that the horses are well trained and won't bolt with you attached. My friend is into her horses and had something like 10 horses going to pull her carriage including her own which had been to the beauty parlour etc. The day before she went to get married foot and mouth broke out so she wasn't allowed to use the horses. I know cars can break down but its not as risky as an animal although they do make for good photographs.

I'd love a horse and carriage however we don't need transport as I am staying at the hotel the night before and it would be a waste of money!!! save the money for the booze!!! :) xx
If we did need transport though, a horse and carriage would definately be the one we'd have!!!

I would LOVE this, but as I'll be arriving after the guests, and we're having the whole day in the one venue, I can't really justify the costs!
CommentAuthorclaireclaire
My dad wants me to have one, this is his only request and it is kinda cute im going to go with it. Ive looked at prices and still in the 100's this was for 2 horse!

We're getting married in a little village, and we've often seen a little 4-6 seater open carriage pulled by a gorgeous black horse trotting around the village so hopefully going to hire him to take me and the girls to the church, and then me, other half and bridesmaids to the reception afterwards.... much cheaper than the two cars it would take otherwise! And it's only a small distance... less than a mile!
Got married 27th June and blessed on July 5th 2012
Finally Mrs M :3
Love, love... Here we are.
