I had a friend get one and it was just like the one in the shop! Pretty sure when they sell you one in the shops the price is 90% pur profit for them.

I'm also getting mine off the bay. A lot of them are not from china also. Even so I think they will be just as good. My dress shop hoops are also expensive and I'm not paying a fortune for something I will never wear again!

I found the same one as in the shop from a uk seller online who wasn't on the bay for 45% of the shop price - called my shop to cancel so I could buy the cheaper one and they price matched!

Some places hire them as well if you don't want to pay a fortune for something that will sit in the attic for the rest of time!

I think it depends what you intend to do with your dress after. If your planning on selling it I would buy one and safe the new bride the stress of finding the right one.

You can also ask around on the forum to see if anyone can lend you one - I got married in June and mine is on loan with another bride who's getting married next week! Then a week after the wedding I'm getting it back so I can use it for our post wedding photo shoots in October :-)

My place said they would hire me one for 3 weeks (I'm going to Cyprus for 2 weeks) for £20. Bargain I thought and I don't have to worry about it collecting dust under the bed for the rest of my life!

Yeah my bridal shop would have hired it to me, but shes closing shop at the end of december so I might be able to buy one off her cheap enough.

I bought mine from the bay and i tried it on at my dress fitting a couple of weeks ago. It was a bit puffy where it had been packed for postage but the woman in the shop said it would be just fine once it was pressed and hung up. Its not the best quality - a bit like net curtain to be honest but it does the job and know one is going to see it anyway x
