It's been one thing after another this week!!

My dad is a self employed landscape gardener and in weather like this doesn't have much work on. He had put aside £500 to help us pay off our honeymoon due at the end of January. The balance is £630 so we had factored saving another £130 and all was fine...UNTIL my sister asked to borrow £500 as a deposit for a new house and when she got the deposit back from the old place she'd give it straight back. Only now she can't!

She's told my dad that she can give him £20 a week until it's paid off and he doesn't know what to do. She says the deposit from the old place went on sorting the new place which is very naughty of her when she had promised to give it straight back!

Now the balance is due in 5 weeks, we have 1 payday before then which won't cover it without us not paying some bills and i'm worried about 'borrowing' the balance from the wedding saver as every penny is allocated to something and with only 4 months to go i'm worried we couldn't replace the money in time.

Panic panic panic! Family would help if they could but times are hard for everyone currently and people have already been so generous. Any suggestions?! :0)

I really feel for you, thought my sister was selfish but yours is premier league. Speak to your travel agent .Once something similar happened to me and the only way you can cancel your holiday is on medical grounds, that way you only lose your deposit. Then take your honeymoon at a later date when its not as stressful to find the money at short notice.

Incredibly selfish of her. I can't believe some people act like this. I know if I ever have to borrow money off people (and I really try hard not to) then they are the first people i pay back! I'd go flippin mental at her...Hx

i cant believe your sister would do that. how rude! is there someone else that can lend you the money? can you get a 0% credit card and put it on there? i know that wont be ideal but at least it will be no interest!!?? xx

if my sister did that she would get a piece of my mind it's quite selfish to borrow promise to return and secretly know all along you wouldn't

Thanks girls. My dad was so mad with her when she told him (over the phone!) that he hung up on her which he has never ever done before. He can be short tempered and didn't want to say something that he would regret.

I sent her a text rather than calling as I didn't want to get upset and basically just said that it's for my honeymoon, what are you playing at?! She's replied saying that she's sorry and didn't realise and will find a way to get the money together by NY so hopefully we're ok! :0) She works full time as does her husband so I don't know why it's so hard to pay back. What they're spending their money on I don't know!

We haven't got the best credit Terri otherwise that would have been ideal. I think H2Bs mum can help us worse case scenario but we don't want to ask just yet as she's already helped us so much. I'm going to phone the travel agent tomorrow Becky and see if they'll extend the deadline.

I feel better for getting it off my chest though. Sure it'll be ok. xx
