    Hey girls,

We have been looking so hard for a honeymoon over the last few days, its driving me mad!!

I dont really like flying and dont wanna be too far away from the kids. We thought about doing a week cruise from Southampton, but its gonna be too expensive. Every hotel I like the look of is going to be full of other peoples kids, (i may as well take ours)!!

Any ideas greatly appreciated, thinking may Cornwall, Scilly isles etc???
    Want somewhere grown up !

The Scilly isles are beautiful, I lived on Tresco briefly years back and used to go over to St. Marys a lot for shopping as it is the main island for shops and restaurants. Tresco is gorgeous, has lovely beaches, a nice hotel (good food), lovely gardens and a pub, but not much else. So if you want peace and nice views then that would be a great honeymoon. But if you get sea sick easily it can get quite choppy on the boats between islands!

We both absolutely love boats and the rougher the better!! lol

We went on a ferry from jersey to sark once, whilst everyone else was being sick we were loving it!!

Do you happen to know what the hotel was called?
    Whats St. Mary's like?

That is ok then, lol. The hotel is called Island Hotel, and I lived next door in a little cottage, my ex was a head chef there. It is very nice and right on the beach. I will put a link on your wall for it. If you want to go the pub there, be warned there are no lights or cars on the island so you will end up fumbling back to the hotel in the dark, I experienced it once or twice! St. Marys is a typical tourist place, a lot of shops sell warm hats etc. for people who like the outdoors, some nice pubs, a Co-op, lol, but not much else. It really is a place to go if you want to take it easy, unless you like bird watching, loads go to Tresco every year for bird watching! :) x

I don't fly, but for the honeymoon I am flying. I will also be on some heavy duty drugs as I REALLY don't fly. I have told H2B that there must only be 1 flight there and 1 back, no connecting and be at least 10 hours so I can go to sleep one end and wake up the other. H2B has booked the honeymoon and I don't know where, I just hope he remembered this.

What about somewhere in France - the ferry if you book early in advance from dover to calais is quite reasonable and you can stay in some lovely little places in the south if you dont mind getting a coach or driving to your honeymoon destination to be treated like royalty

Just a thought as we went round France this summer for our holiday :) xxx

We went to France last Summer too, got the ferry over and hired a gite for a week, it was lovely, was sad to leave, so we are going back for our honeymoon but to Paris, so we can be romantic together without the kids! :)
My best mate now has a french boyfriend who has said he wants us to stay at his families home in Lyon this Summer which would be lovely if we could afford the flights or petrol! Maybe next year. Good luck choosing! :)

What about the channel islands? I went to Jersey when I was younger, it was v nice. Warmer than here, feels a bit foreign as place names are mainly in French but they speak English.
