Hi girls, i know some of you have set up a thing where your guests can pay towards your honeymoon, rather then give you pressies (hope ive got this right).
If so, can anyone tell me how its done and if it can be done at any travel agents.
I have had dissapointing news re a job i was due to get, so im trying to think of ways i can cut our budget!
Thank you so much.

1 of my friends has asked for donations towards honeymoon, but has asked for cash/cheques as companies charge/take some of the cash. xx
Now Mrs Cobb!!!!!! :-D

We are asking for cash/cheque donations instead of a having a gift list. Instead of setting up a honeymoon fund on a website or at a travel agency, we are just gonna have a post box at our wedding reception & (hopefully!!) people can post their donations in there. I know there are a few sites that do honeymoon funds, but some of them charge a fee, which is why we decided against it!!!
We've had to make a few cut backs on the budget too, so we're having a 'mini-moon' after the wedding (few days in Europe!), then using any donations our guests give us to pay for a 2nd honeymoon the year after (to New Zeland- somewhere we've always wanted to go!!).
Sorry for the giant post lol!! x x

Thanks slybacon. Our budget will just about cover all we have to pay off, but we just cant stretch it anymore for spending money for honeymoon. So hopefully we will ask for cash and people wont be offended. bx
we have asked for travel vouchers from thomas cook you can buy them at the shop or on-line if you go in and ask they will give you a wad of leaflets to stick in your invites we did that and attached a poem to them to explain what they were x
Enjoying being a wifey!!
Currently baking a small person at last, took a while :)

Bee - I was also worried about asking for cash, but on one of the forum posts on here I found some great poems that put it in a nice way (as to not offend your guests!! lol). I'm gonna write out the poem on a little card & pop it in the invites! If I can find the post I'll bump it up for you as it might just give you some ideas! x x

we put a poem in with the invitation, asking for money towards our honeymoon, everyone seems happy with this as they dont have to think about buying presents x
I have know my soulmate for 27 years and on the 6th August
I married him and became Mrs Garnham.
It was most definitely the happiest day of my life.
I love married life !!!!

We've booked our honeymoon through Thomas Cook as well - and are asking guests for vouchers. We get married next August, but the honeymoon has to be paid in full by June - but we've been told by Thomas Cook that if we call in with the vouchers before we fly, they can exchange them for cash or refund back onto our debit card (whichever way we've paid for the honeymoon). We're thinking of either doing that or keeping them for an extra mini break after the honeymoon.

If you go to Debenhams then they do a Honeymoon Gift List in conjunction with Virgin Holidays where your guests can log onto the account (you supply them with a password) and they can donate money to you without revealing any details about themselves. x
