hi ladies i was just wondering what you are all doing on yur wedding days are you having your hair and makeup done at home or at a salon? the reason i ask is today we went to meet our new hair and makup artists after the other one canceling and they basically tried to persuade me to have it all done at the salon rather than at home which is what i origionally wanted, but they twisted my leg and i agreed to go in on the day with my mum and bridemaids. went to my nans house to pick up my little boy after the appointment and she was rather dissapointed as she was looking forward to beign round at my mums enjoying us all getting ready togther which is what i wanted origionally anyway. i want to be around all my family on the morning of my wedding, my brothers and nieces and nephews are all going to be at my mums along with my dad and son and grandparents. i dont want to have to faf around getting to the salon and back but they tried to make out that it would be less stressful for me if i went in to the salon? i just dont no what to do! should i change it to a home visit? but i will feel bad as they have said they are going to shut the salon for us :( help!

It was a bit different for me because I got married away from home so had the hairdresser come to the hotel. I did my own makeup though as I wouldn't trust anyone to do that - I know what I like and how I look so would've only taken it off or altered it anyway lol.

There will be a lot of people at your place, do you have space for them and the stylist with her supplies? I think she's suggesting use of the salon based on her own experiences. But at the end of the day it's your choice, your day. Go with what you want to do.

My hair and make up is being done at home as that's what I wanted. There are 6 of us getting ready so it would be easier for everyone to be at home and I think I would be less stressed.

Go with what you feel more comfortable with. But if she's closing the salon, might be worth going there as it will be less stressful xx
I did think about having it done at the salon as we wanted to get ready in the room we are having for the wedding night, however, we are not allowed to go in there until 230pm and we get married at 3pm. I thought shall we get it done at the salon, go over there and get ready but then I thought, what if it rains, what if it all drops, and lots more what ifs, so we decided to pay the extra night to make sure we had the room for the whole day so we are getting hair done there.

The hairdresser is coming to me, but I also want my make up doing so when I find one I will probably ask them to come to me as well. Want to hopefully get ready at the venue x x

I would think going to the salon would be nice as you can have a little champs there and not have to worrier about everyone being at your house and if you have young bridesmaids it will break up the morning ever so slightly so they dont get board stuck in a house. But if you want it done at home tell them and they should be happy to do that as well x

I'm having the make up come to me as my aunt is a mobile beautician. I would of prefered them come to me anyway as I know it would just persist it down as I left the salon.
I'm probably doing my own hair but if not I will go to the hairdressers for a simple wash and blow dry.

Firstly work out how many people are going to be in your home at one time as you don't want to be all hot and bothered getting ready, and also will you feel more 'relaxed' and comfortable having it at home? It is nice to go to the salon and come back and slip into your dress all ready etc. Nice break for you if you do have a house full! They should be happy doing whatever suits you and whatever you would prefer.
I can't give my opinion as I'm staying at the venue the night before therefore having hair / make up done there with my BM's! I'd of probably had it done at home if I was going to be at home the night before tbh but thats because I have only got 2 BM's and a flower girl so not too many bodies!

It's always nice to have the professionals come to you, but when there are so many people around it can be rather stressful due to the interruptions. Although a make-up artist/hairdresser will be able to work with a lot going on, they will always work better when they can just get on with it.
