I am recently engaged and my husband to be is from a Hindu family, I am from a Christian family. I also have never actually been to a wedding so am finding it very difficult to plan!!
I was wondering if anyone has had a mixed-cultural wedding and how they included both cultures- particularly anyone who knows about Hindu weddings and which ceremonial parts I should include or any ministers who would be open to doing a mixed cultural/religious ceremony.
We are based in High Wycombe so are looking in Buckinghamshire/Berkshire/Oxfordshire.
Many thanks

Not Hindu but I'm Chinese and hubby is English. We had a traditional English white wedding with the ceremony in a church (I'm actually Christian anyway so for me the church wedding was non negotiable which suited hubby), the reception was in a English manor house with the exclusive use and landscaped manicured grounds.............. but the canapés served were oriental style, the whole colour theme was red and gold (traditional Chinese and lucky colour), the decoration in the venue were Chinese, the favours were Chinese style ..............basically a Chinese theme incorporated into the traditional English white wedding and it worked well.
There's so many ways of mixing two cultures, brainstorm with your h2b, make a list of all the things that are most important to both of you to have in your big day x
