Is anyone planning to use hibiscus flowers for the toast?

I've been looking online and they come in jars of 50 for £24.95 and I'm definitely going to get some.

For anybody who's never seen them in action, they are edible flowers (closed up) that go in the bottom of the champagne flute with a little bit of their syrup, once the fizzy stuff goes in the open up and turn your fizz pink. Once you've knocked back the fizz you can eat the flower which tastes like jam. It means you can buy the cheapest fizz ever and make it more interesting.

I discovered them at a wedding years ago and everybody was a bit confused by what was in the bottom of the glass when they first came out but once the magic was revealed there was lots of ahhhs and oooohs and they looked amazing.

I think you may have to order them online, I know they don't sell them on the high street of my little city. At least you've got 2 weeks to play with. I hope they work out well for you hun. x

Yes it will work with anything fizzy, that's the main reason I'm using them because I can get really cheap fizz and with the flavour from the flower and the syrup nobody will know the difference. x

H2B's sister had these at new year, I was too wimpy to eat mine lol I'm pretty sure H2B didn't think they tasted too great though. Just asked him but he can't even remember eating it *facepalm*

I thought they looked like weird jelly fish or something. Bit weird. That's just me though!

Just added a link to your wall Lala.

The taste to me was like strawberry jam, my sister and I loved them but there were quite a few glasses that had the flowers left in the bottom. Now, I'm not proud of this and I'm sure my sister isn't either but we don't believe in waste in our family, so we spent a good half hour minesweeping we were even lucky enough to get some fizz in some of the glasses - bonus! x
