Firstly I'd like to say good luck to everyone that's due to get married :D
I'm Emma and I'm 23 years old. I have three beautiful little girls :D aged 4 years, 2 years and 8 months. Me and my partner want to make it finally official and became engaged last week. :D :D We have decided that we want a wedding that's not the same as everyone else. We have found a beautiful outdoor venue. (plan to get married next summer). the wedding venue is outdoor in some woods with beautiful surrounds. we are planning to try and do most of it all ourselves, as the venue cost £2500. we have a budget of bout 10k. Basically I have no idea as to were to start on planning a wedding. I know the basics but that bout all lol.
Any help would be much appreciated :P

Local authority approved premises (England and Wales only)
Local authorities in England and Wales may approve premises other than Register Offices where civil marriages may take place. Applications for approval must be made by the owner or trustee of the building, not the couple.
The premises must be regularly open to members of the public, so private homes are unlikely to be approved, since they are not normally open to the public. Stately homes, hotels and civic buildings are likely to be thought suitable. Approval will not be given for open air venues, such as moonlit beaches or golf courses. Generally, the premises will need to be permanent built structures, although it may be possible for approval to be given to a permanently moored, publicly open boat. Hot air balloons or aeroplanes will not be approved.
If you want to get married in local authority approved premises you should obtain a list of premises from the local town hall. Or you can search for approved premises on the General Register Office's website at: (New window) www.gro.gov.uk.
im not sure if the venue we want has a licence so we were thinking on having a blessing in the woods and signing the papers at the registry office a day later :D
Thanks for all the advice so far :D
heres a link to my venue :D
(sorry hun had to remove that link, they are not allowed on the forum...post it on you wall then people can go from there, Lalabunni)

it sounds just like my kinda wedding Emma!
I am getting married under a big old tree too. Although the reception will be indoors. I live in North of Scotland and as we only get 2 or 3 days a year without rain its a risk I didnt want to take! (joking about the 2-3 days, but it does feel like that!)
I would love a kinda shabby chic outdoor wedding, with candles hanging in little glass holders from trees, white bunting strung about, and cream hearts and flowers everywhere! totally magical.
good luck!!

If they don't have a wedding licence there is a way of getting around the registry office thing, something to do with Humanist weddings, in scotland a humanist (vicar but not) is legally allowed to marry people, I think you have to pay their travel expence tho. Although they are willing to talk to prospective (non vicar) to do the ceremony/blessing for you, but then I think u have to pop to registry office to make it legal.

Theres no more wedding planning to do

Fairy lights everywhere, and if there's a stream candles on stepping stones and in river bank! Spectacular.

CommentAuthoremmajane87
lol yeh its such a beautiful place.
i was thinking that if they dont have licence that i may just get blessed there and make it legal a day later or sumthing or the other way round :P
its the only place i have found so far that do this sort of venue xxx
CommentAuthorsteffi
it may be worth sendin them an email to see what they offer in regards to license etc...
