Hello all,

Have been away for a long time due to personal problems, but with only 8 months to the wedding am needing all your wonderful advice and help you lovely brides have to offer..

From the last time I was on so much has happened..

Finally had my fitting for my dream dress (6 months and counting till it arrives)
Candy cart all ordered for my wonderful day
caricature to keep the guests entertained while getting pics done
Photo-booth ordered for reception
invites ordered at last

One problem I did have that has upset me so much on Thursday past while we were all being fitted for our dresses 2 of my bridesmaids did not turn up and when I called them they said they no longer wanted to be my bridesmaids (am heartbroken to say the least). My H2B no longer wants them at the wedding , but they are family and as my mum and dad are paying for the wedding so they have final say or do we just not invite them and risk the rest of their imediate family not coming either HELP..

Glad the planning has come along so well. Sorry to hear about your BM's. Did they give a reason for it? You say your H2B doesn't want them at the wedding, but how do you feel about it?

Sorry just needed to rant and really did not take time to pick a thread (slaps hand) promise I will in future..

They did not give a reason, I am very upset and angry not only because I have paid a lot of money for their dresses etc but because we are close and feel abandoned on what should be a special day xx

Welcome back hun! I think the ex-BM's are so inconsiderate. Some people just have no concept of the stress that can go into planning a wedding!

I personally wouldn't have them at the wedding but then I guess if they're family it may be difficult with family politics but I think that makes it worse that they're family and can do this to you especially when you've already paid for their dresses etc.

Personally, if i was in that position, i wouldnt invite them. If they were decent enough to give you a reason then yes, i would still invite them, but honestly, why should someone come to your wedding who is that disrespectful towards you? That is my opinion anyway

I would be more upset at the fact my aunt may not come if i dont invite them, i have yet to recieve any explanaton or apology.... I am just so angry .....

Such an awful situation. Why on earth is your aunt being like that?
I'm in the same kind of mood as little kettle too hunni, i'd tell them all where to go. It just doesn't make any sense why they're spitting their dummies out, it's your day not theirs!.

Hey welcome back. congratulations on all the progress you've made including the dress - how exciting!!!
Im sorry to hear about your BM issue, and the family part always makes these situations twice as bad! but its your day so surely its up to you who you do or do not have there? Im like LK, friends are more family than most of my family and they will be the key people i invite! my parents are helping fund the wedding but there was a time where even they were possibly not going to show so my friends are definitely key here. Their the ones with the issue but its your day not theirs! so no need to make it about them!
