    Hey all.
I have been with my OH for 4 years now. (anniversary was June 25th) We got engaged on our anniversary last year and have only just set the date for our anniversary next year (which just so happens to be a saturday!!!). We are planning on cheap and cheerful with a register office service followed by reception at a pub function room or something like that. We have my dress, shoes, some flowers (artificial) and the rings.
Not sure how to progress now. lol. I have a few questions...
What would be the most important thing to do next??
It feels like I have ages to plan it yet and that things can wait or should I get as much done as early as possible??
What is the difference between a Chief Bridesmaid and Maid/Matron Of Honour???
    Do I need both???

Hope you can all help xxx

    Thank you.
They won't let us book it til OH's decree absolute arrives. lol. It's an uncontested divorce so it should only take a couple more months. Do I need to get a move on with other things while waiting?? xxx

Yes thats what I thought a Matron of Honour is a married woman, whereas a Chief Bridesmaid is single, the other things you could be doing is just shopping for ideas and looking at prices and what sorts of things you want, dont forget vat is going up soon so the more you get done now the more you save x

    Thank you all.
Is it not a case of Maid Of Honour is unmarried, Matron Of Honour is married, both of which take care of the brides needs and the Chief Bridesmaid takes care of the Bridesmaids needs?? I heard one person say that but it was only 1 person and no-one has confirmed or denied that for me. xxx

Bee, Colour scheme is planned, we are going for purple and black, lilac and white.
As for favours, are they for all the guests or just the important ones such as Bridesmaids, family of the bride and groom, etc??? xxx

Ooh! Didn't think of that! Thank you. What sort of things should I sort now then? Cant get my son's suit or my daughters and stepdaughters bridesmaid dresses yet cos they are growing too quick and we just can't predict what size they will be in a year. My adult bridesmaids are all trying to lose weight so don't want to get theirs yet either. Already got OH's suit. Can't book anything til the date is set so what can I do now??? I feel like I am stuck in limbo!!! lol. xxx
