H2b is gettin on my nerves. I swear I'm the only one who cares net the wedding. All he does is play on fb or on his xbox. I look at job centre website for jobs and he does nothing I found a job last night that wud be gd for him but he doesn't know if he wants to apply, his problem is he's to picky and we can't afford for him to be picky. When me and mum tlk weddings he says we still have a year yet. He said this last yr and because of this we had to put the wedding back to next year. If I have to postpone again then I'd rather just cancel the entire thing.

I think you definately need to sit him down an give him an ultimatum... he's got to work.. unfortunately we can't pick and choose where we work, particularly in this economical climate... and especially not if him not working is affecting your relationship. xx

Nothin works with him. He says I'm stubborn but he's the stubborn one. It feels like he doesn't give a damn. He just moans at me for gettin stressed or upset. Sometimes I think to myself what is the point in it all

If he's not even applying for jobs then chances are he doesn't want a job and has no intention on getting one. As long as he can get away with the job centre staff believing he's looking he won't change. They will find out he's lying eventually if he says he's applying and he's not, cause they are in touch with some employers and they do check. They've called my H2B once asking why he said he would apply for a job and didn't because the employers were saying they never received an application from him.

Sounds like he needs a massive kick up the bum and told that if he's not going to even try and support his family then he knows where the door is!

:( *hugs* Think you need a break from it all chic. Can you go and stay at your mums for a little bit to give you both some space. I don't think you're being unreasonable. I think he needs to pull his finger out xx

If he can't be bothered finding a job which it sounds like to me sorry if its not?? What about you saying to him FINE you be a house husband, look after the kids the house etc and YOU'LL go and get a job???

Will get you out of the house doing things giving you a braeak from each other and the kids and will bring some money in, best of both worlds?

When I had my son we actually sat down and discussed which of us would go back out to work as we both had quite good jobs and my pay was only slightly less then his! Was eventually decided that he would stay working but for awhile there it was actually him that was going to be a stay at home dad while I went out and worked!
Might be an option for you too???

I agree with Hails, if you're not working for child care reasons and he's at home too it seems to me like one of you could be working and if he has a cba attitude then you should go for it. You are obviously looking at jobs so no reason why you can't find one suitable to you. Personally, I would eventually lose respect for a man who didn't want to work, I've always been surrounded by men who take pride in providing for their families even if the work isn't great. I used to work for the jobcentre and I hated it, mainly because I used to see people on a daily basis who would find any excuse not to work. There were always complaints that they were better off on benefits and when I worked it out for myself, I'd be better off on benefits but was raised with work ethic.

If you are not working for health reasons then perhaps play on his pride, that he should be paying to feed his family instead of the tax payer picking up the tab.

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013
The day I marry the man of my dreams!

ive been job hunting also but theres nothing out there that i could go for, either not enough hours or its nights and because i dont drive its hard for me to get to places. he has been looking today but theres nothing in the paper or online. its so frustrating.
i applied for a customer service job in a builders yard, ive got years of customer service as ive worked in shops and pubs and bars yet i wasnt suitable for the job :S
weve both come from parents that have always worked so we both prefer to work at the end of the day its just getting a job, he searched every job website today and looked in the paper and there was not 1 job that he could apply for.( i sat next to him on sofa to see what jobs there were)
