    hi there ladies.

just looking to get a bit of information and ideas of how much is acceptable to spend for a hen weekend.

i am planning my hen weekend in leeds with activities sat night adonis caberet and cocktail making class on the saturday afternoon
accommodation is a package deal... 2 nights in a hotel, leisure facilities(pool, sauna jacuzzi etc), 3 course meal and tickets to a club.(fri night)
also travelling by train from scotland
i have roughly prices it at about £250.

    is this too much????

just to note my OH is going to austria (snowbombing festival) price roughly £500

I dont want to feel as though i have to match his price....
i want lots of friends to go, and dont want the girls to feel pressured into spending money they may not have

You really need to ask people what they are able to spend, I think £250 is too much to expect people to pay if you haven't already asked.

I've been thinking about my hen recently & the same question, but a lot of my friends are still students so I know it can't be too expensive.

If all your girlies are in work then it may be different, but be careful you don't want to embarrass any of them or make it difficult for them to join you xx

Could you ask around a few friends and see what they think?

Personally I think it sounds great but it's a lot of money and I wouldn't be able to afford it.

Mine was £25 each and the girls paid £10 deposit and then the rest a week before

the event cost £20 and then we asked for an additional £5 for the goody bags

then those that wanted to stay over could just book through the hotel and tell them it was for my party and then got a bit of discount

As a MOH im doing one at the moment and charging everyone £25....im finding people are being quite funny which im shocked about as its a full day thing with food and drink!
Think some people expect everything for free!
My oh paid 75 for a night in newcastle (b&b), paintballing, vip club access and off roading. I know its a stag but just thought it might help you a little....

I think it will depend on what your friends can afford and if they think whats included is value for money. :/
Altho if im honest with you im not sure that is value for money...even tho youve got activities and stuff in there.

I do think I would balk at paying £250...plus you have drinks and food other than the meal on top of that too...

We are going to a cottage in Whitby for three nights, seven of us going and it's costing 40 each for the accommodation, travel will be another fifteen quid...it worked put so much cheaper than hotels...less than 15 per night per person

My worry would be that people would agree and then drop out closer to the date...

But that's based on what I'd expect people I know to do...it's Deffo worth having an ask around xx

It is too much! My friend is getting married in August and her hen weekend is coming to this too! I am maid of honour and feel like I have to go, but have no idea where I will get that kind of money from! Remember that it is not only your hen that these ladies will be paying for. They will be also be paying for outfits for your wedding and a present for you on top. I know you say about putting in £20 a month, but I dont have £20 a month spare, so even though it is a long way off, some people (especially those with kids) wont be able to come. So if you decide to go with it, be prepared for very few people to attend xxx

I think £250 is a little too much to pay unless your going to Spain or something like that.
For my friends chen do we paid £60 and then £10 return travel.
We got a b&b, comedy club access, VIP access to a strip club with buffet meal and goody bags.

A lot of people moaned about that and we had 6 months to pay.

I don't think that many people would like paying that much.

Hey hun, I think it al depends on what spare cash your friends have - ask around. The last two hen parties I have been on have been in Spain! The firsts was a long weekend and the second was for a week - first cost £250 with flights and accommodation and the second cost £300 for the same. I probably spent £500 in total for the second on with spending money, but I didn't mind as I just had that as my main holiday that year. We all paid £40 a month to the hen and it worked out fine - there were 11 of us in total.

I am thinking of going GLAMPING!!! I love camping but awarer that others aren't so keen so thought glamping was the best idea - there are 3 double beds, an oven and even a roll top bath with hot water in some that I have found! It will work out £100 each for three nights and we will make our own entertainment!!! Planning to have a cocktail night, a onsie, hot chocolate and toasted marsh mallow night, and a games night!!! Also planning on doing a T e s c o delivery to keep the food price down. My friends all work and are excited with the early plans!!

    Sarah xxx

Its all down to your personal financial status and that of your friends.
My FSIL is asking us all to fork out £250 for a weekend in Rome in august, and to be quite honest im not sure I can afford, especially as need to give deposit in March! And because of her hen she's told me she cant afford much for mine! Which isn't the nicest thing when I'm getting married in May and always wanted a Hen do abroad! Im not a big drinker, or a big going out girl so didnt know what to do so thought would be nice to go abroad and chill weekend rather than big ol' traditional w i l l y fuelled night out here! But because she's got hers all sorted months in advance and bugging me about mine, and moaning about no money, i cant do that, so need to sort it out, so am having to find a good weekend and to stay local to accomodate all my friends budgets and what not! Which is fine as can do something nice here, and also ive got a nice honeymoon and her Hen to look forward to!
But again it is definitely all down to personal budget and choice, and also what you want to do! xx

Hey hun, I went to leeds for my hen weekend. Its a great place, you'll love it. I used a company and it cost £99 per person, this is what was included -

Overnight stay in 4* hotel with full English breakfast
Cocktail Making class at a local bar with bar snacks included and lots of drinks we made!
Two course meal with half a bottle of wine per person
    Free entry into Oceana Nightclub

I booked it 10 months before and most people paid £10 a month by logging on to the companies website and paying online in a secure booking area under your name. You can see who has paid what and keep track of things. I can put the details on your wall if you want? Out of everyone I asked, one person said no and I was upset as she was a close friend of mine and I thought that £10 a month was ok for people but everyone has different views on what they can and cant afford xx

a couple of years ago i went on a hen weekend to dublin .... we all shared rooms so split the room coast ... flights were cheap .. and we just paid for our meals as we went ... dont think i spent more than £100 total and that includes going on an open top bus tour ( ok i haggled the price of the tickets down on that one , but he wasnt going to argue when faced with 11 women lol)

Hi hun, I think it is too much to be honest. A lot of my friends have sometimes 2 or even 3 hen do's this year alone and more weddings of friends next year too so I think £200-250 is a lot!! I really think £100-150 maximum. I'm really sure you'll find cheaper! Good luck! xx

OH wants to do somewhere like amsterdam or barcelona but coming up at 200+ and one of his mates says cant afford that much, especially not abroad. But OH received an email off of the wow one today, barcelona, 2 nights, 3* hotel, breakfast, football match inc on the sat etc all for £69 and then flights are about £30. . . so worth having a look to see if any good bargains out there! xx
