    Hey all.

I just had a quick question - who is meant to plan the hen do?

My maid of honour asked me at our engagement party if she could plan mine and at first I thought oh wow that would be such a help, but we were chatting the other day and she asked me what i would like for my hen do.

Now I kinda fancy something cheesey tacky - somewhere id not normally go too and just have a massive laugh. My thoughts were (and im not meaning to cause offense to anyone who is from there so please dont hate me) BLACKPOOL!!!

They have so many activities that you can do there, get to stay in b&bs and I just love the thought of going there.

My moh though fancied planning something posh and fancy like a spa weekend with a meal. Which is a lovely idea but just not what i want for me hen do.

Plus im starting to think it may not be best for her to plan it as she doesnt know anyone else whos going on the hen do (just different groups of different friends) so she doesnt really know budgets/what they like etc.

Are brides allowed to plan their own hen do? I dont want to upset her by doing it, but im worried about it now!

    x

    Happily Married! :) xxx

It is traditionally the moh's job to plan it, but loads of brides plan their own so i don't see why not. If your moh really wants to do it though, why not plan it together? That way, she's involved but you get the sort of hen do that you actually want :)

It can be planned by whoever, if u would rather plan it urself then thats fine it YOUR hendo lol x

I thinmk most people get BM/MOH to do it so one less thing to worry about but if she planning something u dont want then just tell her that u would ratehr and explain ur concerns, if she stillw atns to do it tell her what u want her to plan and speak to the otehr group and get information regarding budget from them and pass their thoughts on so he has the informatio xx

My moh planned mine for me and I had no idea what was happening till it happened on the night but she planned it to what she thought I'd have liked and she got it perfect! Let your moh plan details but you maybe set the outline to it ie having it in Blackpool xx

Yeah cause the only thing I said was that I wanted it to be fancy dress and then left them too it, had stripper limo the lot all paid for by them it was a truly amazing send off, so if you outline what you what and leave details to her it lets feel like she's doing it but you also get what u want if you know what I'm saying x x

Im planning my own :). One of my bms was meant to be sorting but shes no longer my bm and shes not talking to me atm. My other bms havent really shown any interest and arent the most organised people.
So i thought id do it all myself i dont really mind though as im super organised and that way i get everything i want too :) x

i told my chief BM where i wanted to go and what i wanted to do and she just co-ordinated it, i just had to collect the cash from Hubby's family as she didn't know anyone but my side of the family wasn't a problem as she is my brother's girlfriend

ah thats a good word to use "co-ordinate" :)

my moh is my primary school best friend, then the rest of my mates are from work and shes never really met them tbh just once at our engagement party.

    xx

yeah i was thinking cos theres about 12 of us to get a private coach down to blackpool - 2 nights in a b&b, an activity or 2 and a show either a drag one or the adonis cos they look mint!
I really fancied doing a dance class of some sort! x

The Adonis cabaret is brilliant! Be prepared to be dragged up on stage though!
I think there's a website that just do Blackpool packages and include dance classes etc xx

i shall have a look for packages - private coaches are £30 pp return from where i am to newcastle which is cheaper than a train/coach so its not lookin too expensive thank god!

prob bout 100 - 120 for 2 nights, 1 show, 1 activity & transport (bearing in mind blckpool is 2hrs away from me)

That sounds like a great deal. I had no idea that private coaches were that reasonable. How many people are attending?

If you are worried about it, then why not plan it with her. My MOH did a lot of planning but we also done some things together. I felt bad leaving it all up to her to do.

My BM asked to help plan it as I was going to plan it myself but now I think my mum is planning it for me. Although I've told her everything I want to do, I think she's just organising it x x
