    Hi All!

Haven't posted in a while so thought Id say hi :)

Whats everyone doing for their hen do? Are you organising it yourselves or allowing you bridesmaid (s) to take charge?

Me and my moh decided on working together for my hen do, but its kinda not turned out the way Id hoped....

I orginally loved the idea of a weekend in blackpool, a complete tacky weekend which is something out of character for me this has ended up being leeds..........

Nothing against leeds but had me heart set on blackpool.....

So now the plans for leeds were as follows:

    2 nights stay
    Train down there
1 fancy night out nice meal and cocktails
    dance class the day after
fancy dress night out - blow out kinda thing!

But my moh has diff ideas she likes the idea of going to spa... not doing anything physical ie dancing and no fancy dress....

So im stuck with a diff of opinions lol!

Is it the done thing to allow ur bridesmaids to take control or can the bride do it herself?

    Whats everyones opinions on this?

    xx

    Happily Married! :) xxx

The tradition is that the MOH/Bridesmaid arranges it, but not to their wants, to their brides wants.. Which doesnt sound like yours is doing ! From the sounds of brides on here, I wouldn't even take on the hassle of trying to arrange it yourself ! And if you do, DO NOT pay for anything until the hen party have paid you first ! A lot of brides upset cause people have let them down after paying out for them !

We're not having separate hens and stags.. If we can even afford it by the end of the road then we're having hens vs stags paintballing or go karting... I'm really really not a spa type girl and neither of us believe in the weekend away stuff.. xx

I have allowed my bridesmaids to plan and organise my hen do so i dont have too as enough going on and i like the surprise idea HOWEVER they were given a full list of everything i did want and didnt want.... maybe you need to do something similar with your hens. Give them a clear list of what you want/dont want and then let them get on with it. I think if they love you and care about your hen do then they need to listen to your ideas and remember its YOUR hen do and not theres so be clear on what you want xxx

I'm organising mine myself as I'm a bit of a control freak and as my MOH put it "If I organise something you don't like, there will be hell to pay" and she's right.
I don't drink and the boozy pink night out isn't my cup of tea at all, so we are having manicures and pedicures, then out for dinner before we go to a comedy club. Seems to suit everyone and people can take part in all of it or parts of it depending on price etc.

I organised my own, we're gong to Alton towers followed by a VIP night in Manchester, stay the night, drive home the next day. One of my friends is arranging some surprises! I have 3 friends who are meeting us in Manchester because they don't like alton towers which is fine with me to be honest, I would rather everyone enjoy themselves. I had one person say "oh but we could get a package, you get a stripper, cocktail making, meal, vip club tickets and hotel" This person I have known for 20 years now and is the only person who doesn't know that stripper and cocktail making would not be my cup of tea at all.
I tried to ask someone else to organise mine but she didn't bother, I got stressed and did it myself so it all depends if doing it yourself from the start is going to cause you more stress than leaving someone else to sort it?
But, you should do something that you want to do, one of the people coming on mine wanted to do a spa weekend, I straight away said no as I wanted something more energetic and fun.

My best friend (and bridesmaid!) is organising mine going to a Thai restaurant (as she knows that my favourite) then she's booked the VIP area in a bar I've always loved to drink and dance the evening away! She's planning some other bits like goody bags but no strippers as she knows thats not my thing!

I'm organising mine then I get to do exactly what I want and I don't get stuff arranged for me that I'd hate or be embarrassed about like I hate strippers so that would be my worst nightmare! I'm looking at packages on a hen do website for 2 nights spa hotel in Edinburgh, a cocktail masterclass with drinks and a buffet included, a 3 course meal on one of the night times and VIP club entry, just gotta decide what to do on the next night,.... Add another activity or just play by ear and see what ppl want to do when we're there x

My hen night is cocktail dresses at the casino, but I was gonna do a show up London by limo wiv meal & then a club, but 1 of my friend who is getting married said she would like 2 do that as well plus my best mate/ bridesmaid doesn't like London ( due 2 years of working there) she come up wiv the casino idea. But I did the research & invited every1 as she doesn't know every1 that I wanted to come but she is organising the cocktails before hand. Plus it's a hell lot cheaper than a show, meal & club up London!! And the friend isn't do that either any more. Which I'm cool wiv coz I do theatre show & meal in London a lot wiv my h2b so it wouldn't b that special 4 me!!

I'm so excited for my hen, my lovely bridesmaids (my two bestfriends) are organising it for me and we are going on a ski weekend!! Having been Marbella, Ibiza, Vegas, all the usual cheap and cheerful resorts around the med i wanted to go somewhere different and being that me an half my friends ski it seemed perfect, not to mention the après ski!! Couldn't think of anything better, a weekend with my favourite people combining 2 of my favourite things, skiing and drinking! Can you tell I'm majorly excited? Lol

My sil is organising mine, however I chose what we are doing.

We have hired a cottage for three nights in whitby, it's costing £38 per head (of course, there will be spends on top of that).

We aren't havng any organised activities as such (well, to the best of my knowledge) so will probably have a big bow out on the pee day/night, a nice meal and a few more civilised drinks and a sunday roast dinner in a pub followed by games at the cottage.

Also, h2bs niece is organising a local night out so more people can come to that x

My MOH is organising mine but have told her that I want a say on the fancy dress theme and no strippers - other than that I am up for most other things!

We plan to go next Easter Bank Hol so nobody has to worry about getting time off of work. Flights for then should come out soon so fingers crossed we can book ASAP!

We are going to Majorca for mine..
It was my idea but I'm letting 2 of my bridesmaids do the planning. My chief bridesmaid isn't doing it because I figured she'll have enough to do, so I gave the job to 2 of the others, which my chief is quite happy about.
If we get he flights early enough it won't be too expensive I'm hoping for no more than £130pp.
Not idea for everyone but I'll have a local night out for them.
The most important thing for my hen is to go somewhere I love with my family and friends am for those who can't afford it then we will do something else.
Other than choosing the destination I'm leaving all the planning to he 2 girls x
