I feel so upset about my hen do - I might be over reacting but I didn't particularly want one in the first place because I had a feeling I'd just end up feeling let down.. should have just stuck to my gut instinct because I was right!

I've had to arrange the whole thing myself.. it took me ages to find a hotel in York to accommodate 11 people. I booked it, put the whole balance on my credit card and now two days later, two people have pulled out which means the cost of the hotel has gone up to over £70 each and I think that's pretty extortionate for a travel lodge! Everywhere is booked up so I can't find anywhere cheaper. The thing that upsets me the most is that my sister is one of the ones to pull out. We've only just started getting our relationship back on track after she tried to cause problems last year and I just feel like it's a massive kick in the teeth.

I just can't be bothered with it all anymore. The only person who is enthusiastic about it and would actually help is my cousin who lives in Australia so there's not a lot she can do until she gets here, but that's not until a week before the hen do!

Thinking I might just cancel it and go out for a few drinks where I live the week after - what would you do?? I feel like I sound like a big spoilt brat but I can't help it.. I'm just disappointed :(

If its been paid for and they knew it was going to be paid for then surely for cancelling they still should give you the money rather than everyone else having to cover the costs?

I don't think you are being a spoilt brat and can understand your disappointment but I wouldn't cancel it. There's still 9 people and that means you can still have a great weekend. Don't let 2 people spoil it for you hun.

    I agree...

With my do, I made it clear that once the money was paid, it was paid and that was that - they wouldn't be getting it back if they pulled out.

£70 a night isn't bad for York, it isn't the cheapest place to stay especially at the weekend. I think the drop outs should cover the cost of there hotel room, at least.

    Xx

i'd ask their reason for dropping out, especially as you've already paid and i'd also be asking for the money, £70 is a fair bit to lose xx

If they knew that you had booked and paid then I would ask them to contribute to the payment. X
