    Hi All,

Do you have any ideas for little things we can do on the wedding day that are not really expensive or things that we can add to the room or day to add that extra bit of Umphh!

    Thank you,
    Cord x

You could make your own decorations, invitations, favours etc because the little touches can make a big difference

I made poster collages of us and as many guests as I could, especially old pictures and when we were younger, they were a hit and gave a focal/talking point during the drinks reception. It brought our families laughing together with people they'd not met before.
I spent about £65 on 4 posters. Much cheaper than the £300 magician we considered but decided against.

Something personal would really make your wedding different. Is there are place where you can have a screen for a slideshow of pictures/videos of the two of you say on holiday or a special occasion? You could also use scented candles or diffusers. I think you can also get the personalised confetti quite cheap now to spread on the tables?

I'm trying to think of DIY decorations, and Tissue pom-poms hanging from the ceiling are always a big hit! They are so easy to make, and if you enlist some help, you should be able to make enough to hang all around the venue? I get all of my tissue paper from €bay and it's pretty cheap?
You can see your own bunting if you have a sewing machine plus the time? Once you get into the swing of it, it's relatively easy, and you can match your wedding colours, plus it can double up as decoration for your house afterwards?
You can paint your own singage? Get some old fencing and make a sign post and paint the different 'arms' with stuff like 'The Nuptials' 'Lawn Games' 'Dancing' etc?
You could go to some car boot sales in the run up and get some old picture frames, hats, glasses, floral headdresses, and various props and paint your own signs, and you can make your own photobooth if you find a really nice background at the venue?
When you have your wedding photos taken, have a pre painted sign saying 'Thank You' and get some nice photos whilst holding it, and then you can use it as your 'Thank you card'?
You can also make tissue garlands, the instructions are on P!ntr€St.
If you have a relaxed venue, and can bring your own alcohol, maybe make up a custom D.I.Y cocktail making bar, and just put all of the ingredients on a pretty table, with a big sign with the recipe and instructions for yours and your OH's fave cocktail/s and it's a cheap way of having a usually expensive feature?
I'm thinking for mine that I will gather a load of the wedding photos from both our families and design a family tree using the photos, then hiring a Polaroid camera that prints instantly (there are companies that hire them) and add it to the display whilst we're 'off taking photos' as a kind of tribute to our parents and grandparents and stuff?
Also, have you planned your favours yet? If you two have a fave dinner that you love, then maybe get the ingredients in bulk and split them all up into small amounts and print off a small printed recipe so that the guests can make them at home and think of you and your wedding day when they eat it? Don't know how costly it could be though?!
Also, are you planning on having lawn games? They can be hired for really cheap if you don't type in 'wedding lawn games' but just look for like a bouncy castle company, and they're usually around £15-£30 per game, but would be a great addition to your cocktail drinks whilst you are away taking photos, as that's usually the most tedious part of any wedding for the guests?
If you comment again and specify if you have a 'theme' or colour scheme, or style of wedding day, then we may be able to offer more suitable suggestions! Hope I've helped! X
