Congratulations!! :D Just remember to breathe! :)

There are a few other threads here with lists of everything you need to think about, try searching a few to see what you find. The other site tabs here are also really handy, and check out the tools that help you keep track of certain things. If there's anything specific, just ask this lot in here - they're everso helpful! :)

Welcome and congrats on your engagement! You've certainly come to the right place!

Planning a wedding can be daunting...this is how I started:

First, write a list of necessities.....then desirables. You need to think about what sort of day you want. We saved a shed load by having a smaller ceromony and weding breakfast and a larger evening do, however that won't suit every bride, so you need to think Bout what your priorities are.

Next, work out what your budget is...you need to know how much you can save, and if yours or h2bs parents are contributing, how much etc.

Then you need to work out what your neccisities are likely to cost....google is good for this. Do a spreadsheet so you have an idea of what you are likely to spend - and any extra can go towards the desirables!

Think about any friends who have particular skills - they may be able to offer practical help.

Also break things down into manageable chunks. Instead of thinking 'oh no, I've got a whole wedding to organise' just be like, ok, this month I want to sort out the venue and photography, next month I'll do stationery and dresses etc.

Also, wedding fairs are worth a look just to get ideas...

    Happy planning! Xx

    Hi Rebecca

to the uk's number one wedding forum that is

Now that you have found your way here you will get all the help you need in planning your special day and make loads of new friends with the lovely ladies that make this site so special so enjoy every min of it!

Ok now for my modly bit.....

FIRSTLY can I ask you all to read the forum rule thread that is at the top of the forum page as it not only lets you know all our do's and don'ts within the forum it also explains all you need to know with regards to our heart and points system as well as a few other need to know bits.

Secondly if you haven't a clue where to start please read a thread called "a brides checklist" this has an amazing list of exactly what to do and when, when your planning your wedding and is a BRILLIANT help!
To find this thread go to the search above and type in the thread name as above and the thread will pop up for you :-)

Thirdly when writing a thread please remember to use the search above first because most questions have been asked so there are many threads available that have some brilliant tips and advice in them that would be a shame to waste simply because you missed them.

Fourthly, to get the full benefit of the site you need to un-restrict them so the ladies can add you as friends and so they can put links on the wall if your trying to find something as they are not allowed in the forum.
To un-restrict your page all you need to do is go to your wedding page by clicking the wedding button above. Then under your wedding countdown clock there is an edit button. Click that and it will take you to a page where all your details are, at the bottom is profile settings so just click that to public and your all set to go! :-)

And lastly JUST ENJOY BEING A MEMBER OF UKB AND PLANNING YOUR WEDDING DAY!

If you need anything just pm me or any of the mods we are usually here!

Feel free to add us to your friends list

    Mods are ....

Oh you ladies are life savers! My fiance and i have just booked our church because we both want the tradition with all the trimmings, i even think he may be freaking out more than me, as im only going to be 20 when i get married when we go to look at venues i get 'and how old are you' so im hoping joining ukbrides can help me find everything i need without people thinking im a 16 year old, congratulations to all of you on your engagements/weddings! Thankyou for your advice girls! :) xo
