hi everyone, i am new to this so please excuse me.

right will someone PLEASE help me. Im gettin married on 26th august 13 but have a problem, my fiance has just been made redundant so our budget has just plummited, to a bare minimum as iv only just got another job from being made redundant last yr myself (this is actually the second time we would have to pospone the wedding may i add). We really dont want to pospone it again. so really i need some cheap (and i mean cheap) ideas. iv already got the stationary down from £60 to £30 and my dress was in the sale, my mum and dad are paying for my cars and cake, my grandparents are paying for the church and my fiance's are paying the the flowers, so in that sence we have help and time on our side but i need more help ( concentrating on the centrepieces at the mo.

please girls get ur thinking caps on xx

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your forthcoming wedding. Wedding's don't need to cost an absolute fortune. Nic's bumping threads for you at the moment, so take a look at those.
Sorry to hear about your h2b's job. My hubby lost his a couple of years back and was out of work for 8 months. He was planning on proposing until this happened, so although it didn't set back our wedding in real terms, in his mind it did. Then, just after we got married, I got made redundant from my job! It's a horrible feeling, but it's happening all over the place at the moment.
I got a lot of my stuff from the bay and my mum did my centre pieces and got vases from charity shops for those. x

I've made a lot of stuff myself, with materials bought cheap on ebay and have bought nearly everything else- bridesmaid dresses, boys' outfits, kids' outfits, decorations, gifts etc on the bay of E- some real bargains out there if you look hard enough! Got girls' dresses brand new (BHS ones) should have been £90 new, paid £12 for one, £29 for other. I've also get all the crafty people I know helping out- have family making cake, making stationary, doing make up, flowers, alterations and DJing! They're all doing it instead of buying wedding gifts and every little really helps! If you've got any friends that have talents, rope them in! You can also get photographers etc very cheap if you get someone who's just starting out.

welcome to the site, have you found some ideas, you could make some things yourself i.e name tags for favour boxes, table numbers etc all you need is a computer, printer and paper.

Bay of e have lots of different things for cheap, also if you look on some freecycle sites in your area they may have some brides giving things away

If you need any help searching for things let me know and i'll see if i can help xx

do you have an overall theme? I mean if it was vintage there are loads of ideas.....like old fashioned cups and saucers filled with wild flowers......get them from a charity shop and just fill with flowers.
If it was a modern theme, then Dunelm mills have loads of vases, or fish bowls and gerberas, birdcages, , really if we knew what theme you were having we might be able to suggest different things.

Hiya i've seens absolutely tons of threads on this forum people doing their whole wedding for like £600 - £700 absolutely amazing!! so surely you will definitely find inspiration!! britannia aand holiday inn do good wedding packages all across the uk i think britania do something like 50 people for a sit down meal and 100 people buffet at night for £1000 i know thats not a little amount of money but you know for what you get its a lot cheaper than other places, for a photographer i'm asking everyone to take pictures and giving them a disk to send me the best pictures and also i have a few friends that have studied photography and only do it as a hobby so i'm sure i'll be haappy with their results and we're saving hundreds on a photographer, this is the poem thing i saw that gave me the idea and i'm just gonna print it off and slip it into a cd sleeve

We hope you all have a fantastic day,
We’d like to see through your eyes in your own special way.
So rather than disposable cameras capturing images blurry and strange,
Our idea is unique; we felt it needed a change.
This CD is for the best pictures you take,
With brilliant photos you send us, an album we will make.
    Thank You
    With love xxxxx & xxxxxx

Also i'm really into making as much as i can myself!! you will find i bargain and this forum is great for helpiing i think if you wanted a videographer x~hails~x has a link for a guy on FB that sometimes does deals for like £99 for quite alot of the day... i dont think i'm going to bother with it but its essential to some people :) xx best of luck xx

Ours is costing us just £5000 but half of that has been used for the accomodation, we are doing lots oursleves, we have got bargain dresses but all lovely, using the village hall has cost us only £250 from fri to sun, our hogroast is £1070 for our 100 guests and includes all the salads ect, we are all making something for the evening buffet, our family and friends are helping decorate the hall, and doing other bits and pieces that is saving us a lot.
