Im getting married on the 24th july 2015 at 3pm in a chapel then its about 5 minutes to the reception, we are not having a 3 course meal or anything like that we are have having two buffets one in the afternoon and the other in the evening, one will have plates set out with slices of meat a lettuce leaf and a crown tomato already on them plus you can go add stuff from the buffet and there will be a seating plan and the night one will just be a buffet and people can move around. Im wondering how long a ceremony and having photos will take so I know a rough time we will get to the reception also what order do we do things in such as the cutting of the cake, speeches, the first dance and both lots of food? and finally what sort of times would we do these?

Ceremonies can be anything from 20 minutes for a registry office to an hour or slightly longer for a full church service. Ours was about 40 minutes for a Catholic Church ceremony then we had about 15 minutes of photos outside the church followed by another 45 minutes of photos at our reception venue. It all depends on the ceremony your having and ask your photographer how long they need for photos.
Our receiving line was about 30 minutes then the 3 course wedding breakfast was around 2 hours with speeches about 25 minutes and cake cutting is quick. All in that order.
After that we had our first dance around 8pm followed by the evening buffet at 9pm.
