we keep wondering whether or not to spend more money than we think is acceptable for a pair of jimmy choos but I really like a pair called GRANT. The only problem is that if we go ahead which if im a good girl i have been told I may get them, then i need a size 3. There are no size 3's on the website and other places seem to be copies which are probably not very well put together. Any ideas?

From all information on a thread the other day and personal info the original isn't put together very well either, but if your heart's set on them can you ask on the official website if anywhere stocks this size?

thats the only other thing putting me off. it seems to be mixed on the thread with some ppl saying they are poo and others saying they are brill. I dont mind if the soles look worn as long as they dont wear away and need replacing.

Be careful of the copies my friend got con'd on a website for Louboutin shoes and they were hideous, nothing like the photograph on the website. Luckily she paid on her credit card and got her money back.

Good luck on your search though hun xxxx

yes we thought that. we did find a pair on a similar site but we thought that they had just copied the photo off the jimmy choo site so we decided we either buy authentic or not at all.

My H2B is the cobbler and he wouldn't give a tenner for a pair! You could always get a sticky sole put on when new so that the proper sole isn't severly damaged?

Everyone on that thread who's criticised them does not actually own a pair; enough said. Those of us who own them rate them highly for durability, wearability/versatility, and comfort. I have 3 pairs of Choos, 1 of which is 10 years old, and 4 pairs of Ginas, and love them; they have been WELL worth the money, they are super-comfy, they are beautiful, and they are classic; even my 10 year old pair haven't dated at all.

The soles are soft leather, as with any high-end designer shoe. So if you plan to go hiking in them, they're not for you. If you are buying them as an evening shoes, to wear mainly indoors, they are fine. Mine have been worn around the streets of Cuba and Mexico, as well as out in the rain and dirt in my home town. No, the soles are not pristine (common sense tells you they won't be; soft, pale leather is obviously going to get grubby!), however they are not ripped, damaged, or torn, and they serve their purpose. After a couple of wears, the soft leather basically gets tougher/smoother/harder, and can withstand outdoor wear much better.

Now, where to buy them: phone around first of all, as Jimmy Choo don't have access to the stock at department stores; so, they might not have a pair online, but Selfridges or Harvey Nics might have a pair. Also phone round their stores, as their online store is different and has different stock. I would strongly recommend trying a pair, even if it's in a similar style, as designer shoes can come up different sizes; in JC I take a 5.5-6, in Gina, a 6-6.5, they can come up smaller and narrower than high street makes. Staff will be able to advise if they're a 'classic' style, that they're likely to get back in syock; if not they should be able to call you if a pair comes in, and keep checking their website (I nabbed a pair I was after after they came back in stock for a couple of hours). Please do NOT buy from a fakes website; not only do you have no idea what you are getting, but these companies are known for card cloning and fraud, so buying is very risky. Only ever buy from reputable companies like department stores.

thanks hun, we already decided to either buy them properly or not at all. I did try in jc in a size 3, they were a tall pair of black ones that i can not actually walk in as the heel is far too high but they did fit. I went to selfridges in manchester and couldnt find them but was in a rush so perhaps i could ring them and see if they can locate them in another store? its just awkward as i have tiny tiny feet.

Definitely call them, and also try JC direct; you can also sign up to a 'waiting list' on the website and they'll tell you if they come back in stock. Also check out the bay every so often as you never know :-)

It's illegal to sell fakes, so with ebay there's usually a degree of protection, just check out the credentials of the seller; if the goods are fake, you should be able to get a refund through ebay. There's more protection that way than with a dodgy online company, just check out the description carefully as you probably want ones in very good or new condition.

Yeah I get that :-) I'm funny about shoes full-stop lol, saw some good bargains on there the other day but was like 'but they're not NEW!' lol, even though as soon as I wear them they'll look the same! I just love the new feelings and how wonderful it feels when I slip them on for the first time :-)

Browns have in the past had a great selection of designer wedding shoes on their website (including the sale section). I used to drool over them when I was still planning to have bridal heels.

Another idea, have you tried contacting US stockists? They might be able to ship them to the UK.

SS: I just looked and can't find any in the US :-( Only tried the big stores that def ship to the UK though.

It's so annoying when you get your heart set on something and struggle to get it, it makes you want it even more! (well it does me anyway lol)

hi girls, i have been to my hairdressers today who said he can get hold of jimmy choos easily through his contacts..... however...... he said he would not recommend them, even for just a party shoe but would recommend christian louboutin. He said he will do a few calls and see if he can get me some really nice ones for the price of the jimmy choos. so confused. I really wanted jimmy choos but there seems to be mixed opinions now.
