Check out a thread called a brideschecklist hunni everything you need is in there.
as for what order I personally decided the budget, the amount of guests we wanted there and then the venue. After that it doesnt matter what order you do them babe just do as or when you want, need to!

Well firstly CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Have you actually set the date?....decide what 'sort of ceremony' you would like, church...register office, civil ceremony like in a hotel or other licenced premesis???....look round at your choice of venue and make sure your dates are free, then contact the registrar, to make sure they have a time slot for you, you would need to pay a deposit to confirm your date etc as its 12 months away

so after that, you will have dates and a place in mind to 'set the tone' for other aspects of your big day! xxx
