We are having Amazing Grace & Jerusalem because we like them and they are well known so people are more likely to sing along! if you go on **********************(not sure if this link is allowed but its not a company its the official C of E site) they offer lots of ideas about readings etc (i think in a church service at least some of the readings have to be bible readings) recessional music is more personal...we are going for traditional Mendelssohn but people have all sorts 'signed sealed delivered' etc
hope that helps :)
EDIT - LINK HAS BEEN REMOVED AS ARE ALL LINKS REGARDLESS OF THAT THEY ARE , PLEASE POST IT ON YOUR WALL

If you ask your vicar they may be able to provide you with some help for the religious parts (i dont know if youre thinking of having any non-religious poems etc.).
Mine has sent me loads of documents containing readings and prayers and poems etc. to choose from :)

I'm a lifelong Methodist, but getting married in my fiancé's anglican church because of accessibility. I would strongly recommend you look at "Love Divine All Loves Excelling" for one hymn. The most obvious reading is 1 Corinthians 13. You only need one but there is room for more. You could have non-bible readings as well. Walking in and out just needs to be music that you love.

Just bumped the official music threads for you in case there are any good ideas on them. As for readings I love: Ruth 1:16-17 But Ruth said, "Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. "Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. Thus may the LORD do to me, and worse, if anything but death parts you and me." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (these are the most popular lines, 1-13 is the complete reading) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Be Thou My Vision is a nice hymn as well. If your congregation is one that is mostly used to church, you could have a more modern worship song.

lovely poem read recently at my friends wedding by her sister
The speech I read in church at my sisters wedding...... " Today sister, as you walk down the aisle, you will see faces wearing a smile But as we remember those young tender years Our smiles will conceal a few hidden tears It isn't through sadness, it's emotion that swirls As we think back to us being four little girls And now you have grown and make me feel proud As you smile for the camera and the rest of the crowd Remember ------ --------, as you become a new wife You're still very much part of my life I'm not losing a sister but gaining a brother As husband and wife you'll adore one another So be blissfully happy and enjoy your big day Have a wonderful marriage and do it your way"
