Hi, I'm new to here and this is my first post.

Got engaged about four weeks ago and looking for ideas on a suitable venue. I would like to find somewhere where I can set up a marquee to host an informal wedding for around 200 guests. Id want to hire my own caterers and provide my in alcohol.

Congratulations.

I am in Porthcawl so not far. My advice is buy your south Wales wedding magazine. It is by far the best magazine around as it is all local and its only £2.95 a copy. cheaper if you buy subscription. Just bought current one today and there is venues in Cardiff. Can also back buy on website.

I think it depends on style and budget. I doubt you will be able to get anything in city centre big enough for marquee but I could be wrong.

Go on Cardiff council website and look for venues that are registered to preform ceremonies that might help give you some ideas.
