Im despreately trying to find an interesting holiday for our honeymoon. I am rubbish at finding cheap holidays online, I've no idea what sites to use. Could you girls help me with a few cheap sites? I was thinking of a cruise but not sure we can afford it to be honest. We are going to have £1500 or so for the honeymoon, maybe a tad more (prob not as we'll need spending money)

At first I wanted 2 weeks away but to be honest, I think maybe Id rather have 1 really good week. I thought that kind of cash would get us an amazing holiday but I've clearly got no idea lol!

hiya rockabilly we're going to book our cruise on friday, we have left it a bit later than we would like but hopefully get something, i have been told to mention it's our honeymoon and we should get extras, also when i popped into travel agents yesterday the guy said there was a free upgradse on at the moment to the all inclusive to include drinks also so food drink and entertainment paid for lol, i have no idea where to start, have never booked a holiday online and with this being our honeymoon i want no upset so figured a reputable travel agent is the way forward then i have comeback should anything go wrong. There seems to be different prices for different ships and obviously different places, we only want to do the med for 7 nights as don't want to be away from wee boy too long although he is going away with my sis and bro in law for 5 days lol.

Def be worth popping into travel agents to make a start and get a feel for prices etc. i'll keep u updated with my progress and see if there is any bargains to be had (bargain is my middle name lol). Thomson Cruises has been recommended to me from several friends so could be worth a wee nosy for u. xxx

For the budget you have got the maldives is out of your price range unless you go for a low end resort and it probably isn't worth it for the distance you would travel. You can get some really good deals with virgin holidays or kuoni to Kenya and that looks amazing. Elephants and everything! x

Thanks Kaz :-) I went to a travel agent a while ago to ask we told the guy all the information but he was totally useless. He was looking at budgets we could never afford and not very helpful at all. He wasnt even slightly interested. It put a downer on the honeymoon booking fun so I have only just started looking again.

I am off work next week so I am going to spend a day going round travel agents with my man and this time its going to be fun!

Exactly, I just want it out the way, I know we arent going to get a really posh holiday but I just want something special. I''ve never been on a really nice holiday before :-(

All the cruises Ive spoted online are a bit too expensive. Do you reckon we would get one for £600-£750?

Have you thought about asking for holiday vouchers instead of presents? Might help top up your budget and get you the amazing holiday you're after!

If not just get googling countries you might like and put words like cheap or bargain in the search bar to. Once you find a website and a holiday you like the look of and the price, google reviews on the company you will be booking with (vital if you want to make sure you don't get ripped off) and get on tripadvisor for reviews on your chosen resort to help weed out the duds.

Cruise lines that are reachable on your budget are probably Thomson Cruises and NCL. Your more than likely looking at an inside cabin or one with a window..... But there are offers about at the moment with high discounts and free upgrades so worth having a look at others too!

For a land based holiday ideas;
- Croatia, it's more than a beach holiday with stunning scenery and you can visit Dubrovnik
- Areas of Greece, I'm thinking of Kefelonia, Santorini or Halkidiki for mine
- Italy, Sorrento or Lake Garda are very popular - my manager went this summer and there is LOADS to do and it's a very romantic destination.
- Cuba, stunning beaches, people are amazing!!!
- Mexico, I loved it!

I really hope you get better service when you go looking again. You'll find your perfect Honeymoon it just takes a bit of searching :)

Nooo sorry hun H2B is from Edinburgh but we're down South atm. We do share the same date!!! :)

Best way to put it is 'Is that the best price you can do on that holiday' OR 'Could you offer some further discount on that price'
With regards to the cruise you should be offered 10% discount (except P&O, Princess and Cunard Cruise Lines) - we can't discount them.
With a beach holiday 7-10% is normal

If your not happy with the price they give you message me with the details and I'll check them at work for you and try and give you more discount then you can go back to them and ask them to price match! LOL

Lake Garda to Florence is about 3 - 3 1/2 hours by car but you'd probably find theres a train between the two.

Yeah we just asked - for our honeymoon we took one quote, then looked at our upgrade options, and basically agreed a price where we would book there and then if it included a & b etc, had a chat with the agent and we got everything we wanted for 150 cheaper than our limit! You just need to ask....
