Hello Everyone, this may seem a bit naive but i've just got engaged, I havent a clue where to start! We're wanting to get married in April 2015, so 2 years to save for the big day, We want a Civil ceremony (I think thats what its called) Dont want to get married in a church would like to get married in some sort of hall quite late around 2/3PM then go straight onto the reception with a hot buffet and entertainment We both have large families (around 200 people each) and thats the reason we dont want a sit down meal as the cost and we dont want to offend too many people so were gona invite very close relatives to the ceremony and everyone else to the reception. Does anyone have any tips/advice for me please? No matter how small it will all be appreciated.
    Thankyou :)

It sounds like you have a pretty clear idea of what you want already :) Just need to fill in the gaps! If I were you I'd check out the post that InDreamland bumped and make your own list using the info on there to prioritise everything that you need to do by what is most important to. Hope that's helpful, shout me if you need any help xx

Definitely check out the brides checklist, it has a lot of good information. I'd also highly recommend setting up a budget and getting an estimate of costs. The UKBride quote me service is a good way to find out about local venues, photographers, flowers and get an idea of costs too! xx

    Congratulations.
You have a huge amount of guests in mind which will restrict your venue choices quite a bit. Dont rule out marquees for that, with a relaxed buffet it can work really well.
I dont think our day would have worked out half as well without us both writing lots and lots of lists! Our fridge was like list-mania!
Perhaps make a scrapbook/notebook of things you like, keep an eye on a budget you may have in mind.
Most of all, make it a day for you and your H2B to enjoy.
Have fun planning xx you will love it here xx

Ok so you have a guest list sorted out. Next get your budget planned...what can you save every month and how much will you have by your intended weddign date.

Choose a venue and get it booked. ater that it is a case of dress, rings, photographers, caterer etc.

Prioritise with your h2b exactly what you both want from your day and what is the most important to you. Assign a portion of your budget to each part of your day.

Copngratulations and make it a day to remember xx
