    Hello ladies,

Yesterday I went to speak to the florist that my venue recommends. She is extremely well established knowledgeable and trustworthy. But that seems to come with added £££££ :/

I always wanted pale blue and neutral flowers. The bridesmaids dresses are periwinkle blue which is a pale blue/lilac colour. Apparently because my wedding is in may I cannot have these colours because the fliers in this colour aren't in season till later in the year.

That is unfortunate but I came to terms with it and settle on the following:
    1 bridal bouquet
    4 bridesmaids bouquets
    5 button holes
    2 pedastools for the church
9 centre pieces: flower arrangement on candelabras
    1 top table arrangement

That is it. All this came to a mind blowing ridiculous £1698!!!!!!!!

I am not having anything fancy no expensive are flowers just simple normal ones so how is it so much!!!! I live in Milton Keynes so don't think it's London prices. I understand she is a good florist but I think it's a tad extreme!

On top of all of this despite the huge price tag I am still compromising on flowers
    I can't have the colour I want.
I wanted pew ends in the church but decided against it.
And I had to downsize the bridesmaids bouquets to get this price. Originally I wanted smalle versions of mine but this pushed the total cost to £2000 so I downsized them. All my bridesmaids are getting is 3 avalanche rises with a bit of foliage!!

Am I right to be upset! This seems like a huge extortionate amount, for which I would expect the full works but instead I'm having to compromise.

Please help I don't know what to do????????

I have looked at other florists and there proves are similar. I could cope with the amount if I was getting what I wanted from it but I'm not :( I'm so confused and upset about it all just don't know what to do....

Hmmm if your not getting the colours you want have you thought about silk at all??
This way you can get EXACTLY what you want and they do tend to be a heck of alot cheaper with the bonus of being able to keep them forever?

Cant totally see where you are coming from and yes that is ridiculaous price but having worked in a florist (my stepmum owned own florist shop few years ago)In a way it does help that otehr florists are around the same price as at least you know she not ripping you off price wise and charging more so she can give whoever recommended her a cut of teh price etc however do bare in mind that some florist do cahrge a huge amount for the florists time and that is what you are actually paying for and not always flowers. Also are you getting to keep the candelabras after or not!?!?

I would try shopping around and see if you can find someone cheaper, you could always try the "I would really like to use you but taht slightly more than my budget and I was quoted ££££ maybe Ill go back there", see if you can get anything off. Personally we had shop in Essex and didnt charge those prices or London prices xx

If your heart is set on fresh you could always go to the florist and tell her exactly how much you can spend. Could she add pale blue artificial flowers? Use less expensive flowers in the bouquet? Less in the centerpieces? I wouldn't treat the quote as written in stone, it's the starting point for negotiations.

That is a ridiculous price I have budgeted about £600-800 for flowers!
I have only provisionally booked the florist so far, but I have used her a few times she does some really unusual stuff and she works around your budget x
