So ignoring all my previous posts about the unique funky cake we really like.... as much as you all did too... Sorrrryyyyyy!!!
Now I have magazine, and have sat down with Mom and OH we have kind of decided its not as amazing as we first originally thought! We want to revert back to the idea of our love for Disney being incorporated...the cake woman last Sat, completely disregarded it, she was quite helpful explaining either elegant and simple or full on Disney, which we totally understood but thinking back, that is whats us and what we love, so why did she not give us any ideas? In her email to me she mentioned she loved the idea of Disney....but never gave us any tips or ideas for the day... we think it was just trying to get us to do something completely different - aka more money for her!!!
So just sat and we think we have come up with something simple and elegant... The flowers from the unique cake but on the style of the plain ivory one, except it will be in pearlescent (sp) white with turquoise ribbon, and instead of the simple, singular dots, having the mickey mouse ears shape.... to simplify have included a draft idea I drew up...
Opinions would be greatly appreciated...

Really like the idea of the mouse ear polka dots, it keeps the disney theme but does it in a way that is subtle and elegant, it keeps it a wedding cake as I think if you had mega disney you'd risk looking like it was a childrens party cake. I think the design you've drawn up looks fab, and well done on being so artistic, I could never get a drawing done like that! xx

thanks lizzylou - my thoughts exactly. we dont want anything in your face Disney as dont want tack or OTT or kids party style... it isnt the 'theme' per say! haha thanks its nothing good, i was bored awaiting my dinner (as at mom's not cause OH cooks pft!) so wanted to try and work it out visually as well as imagine it.. especially for his sake!
Yeh as much as we loved the other one, its different and unique it definitely going down in our books now! xx

Thanks ladies, the cake lady originally said if going Disney got to go full on or not at all, combining the two just wouldnt work! But with this, most people will just think of it as a typical dotted cake and not realise its the mickey emblem! especially as dots will be same colour as cake! Hopefully! xx
