Oh sod it. I got fed up waiting for them to come up again second hand and then paying a small fortune for it - and this morning I saw on my fave blog a bride wearing fake ones so I thought sod it and I just bought the counterfeit ones for £30 incl p&p. Let's see how they look...

They are more vibrant in colour but I think only someone whos obsessed with the shoes can spot the difference - when they are off because the imprint on the inner sole is slightly different.

They don't have all collections but the main colours from the first 2 years. But many other Melissa shoes. I was thinking the same :-)

The shoes arrived today!
I am not 100% happy but for that price they are ok. Somehow it feels wrong to have a Westwood counterfeit in my hands but nevermind :-) On one of the hearts is a flaw in the cut of the plastic - I think I can file it down but I don't think this would happen with a real one. They are also weirdly cut - but I have no idea if this would be the same case with actual ones. I have teeny feet that are wide at the front but I don't have wide feet - and I have very narrow heels. But bunions. My wide bunions fit in the shoes but then strangely the bit that comes after where the foot thins out again does not fit 100% in the shoe. And they are a bit to big at the back despite having them on the smallest buckle. I'll see what an insole could do but then I think I would slip out because I think my foot would be too high up. Strange cut!
But even though this all sounds negative - I love them anyway, I had my heart SO firmly set on these shoes - I will wear them no matter what. :-)

It's not so much about other people knowing - it's more about my personal feeling and for ethical reasons. I am not big on labels and very cheerfully cheap with everything - but some labels/designers I love for the sake of the label or the person behind it. Like Vivienne Westwood. To actually own a real Westwood piece would have been something. I would really treasure it. It is less magic that way and somehow wrong - BUT they will look fab in pics and I love them anyway. :-)

Holly I thought of you the other day - on Rock n Roll bride was a bride with the same shoes (mint green ones) but she spray painted the hearts to match her colour scheme. Would that be an option for you? Buy those and spray paint the hearts white?
