My name is Leah, and i new to this site.

I was wondering if anyone could help me, i'm in a right state and confused on how to start planning a wedding. But the major problem is i only have 4 months in order to do everything, if someone could please give me some pointers i would be extremely grateful.

hi, i only joined this site yesterday :) i have had just over a year to plan my wedding (which is 3 weeks tomorrow!) but honestly i could have done it in much less time than i had. don't worry about it, aslong as it's not going to be the most extravagant wedding then you will be fine!
i'd start by booking appointments for dresses (making them and alterations can take months to do!) and starting to look at venues. don't have a particular date in mind, just incase you can't find anywhere that has that date free. make sure you get it booked in asap!
then write a guestlist, and think about getting your invitations out (they're usually 2-3months beforehand).
think about your style of cake, and find somewhere that will make it how you want it. (i've heard for fruit cake the longer it has to set before the wedding, the better the taste)
once the big things are done then it's up to you to add all of your personal touches; decorate things how you want to, think of bridal accessories, groomsmen suits, flowers, music, favours etc.
good luck and enjoy it! :) xx

    Hi, welcome and congratualtions x

Probably easier said than done but DONT PANIC, if men can do it in 3 weeks on DTTB, I have faith a women can do it in 4 months!!!

If you make your profile public people will be able to add anything useful on you wall we cant post certain stuff on the forum against the rules etc x

I would be stright down to the dress shop and be looking, there are some bargins around at moment with sales etc so you maybe able to find soemthing you love that doesnt need alterations etc??

you need to sort the big things asap:

Speak to registra get date booked and give notice
    Dress
    Venue
    Suits
    Cake
    Photographer
    Flowers
    invatations

After all that is done you cant hen add the little touches as and when but with such short time I would get teh big thigns doens and sorted ASAP as at teh end of the day without tehse things there wont be a big day xxx

Welcome and you can do it in 4 months. My friend got married last year and I helped her do it in 2 months. Like what has been said before need to sort your dress and venue first. Good luck x x

Hi welcome, congrats on the engagement and you have defo come to the right place!
Mrs Brammer to Be as already said it but if a bloke can do it in 3 weeks on DTTB, a woman can definitely do it in 4 months!
I think she has covered all the main things you need to do straight away...venue, registrar, photographer etc.
4 months I take it thats January time? You are looking at the not so busy period so should be able to get hold of all of the above for then quite easily and hopefully bag yourself some bargains!
As for dress, loads of sales on, if you don't mind sample dresses or end of line dresses they usually get heavily discounted as many b2bs have mentioned across the forum. This place is full of great tips, hints, ideas, if your stuck you can ask all the girls for help and opinions etc. As the others have mentioned take a look at the planning thread...

    Good luck :) xx
