Ok so I'm going to sound really stupid here but this is really getting to me
I'm getting married at the end of march so my time to get a dress is vastly running out

I don't know what's wrong with me, I don't want to be a crazed bridezilla!

the problem is I have hated every single dress i have seen so far, am i a giant bridal freak???

I cant wear strapless because of my boobs and i don't want a slinky or colored gown
I just cant seem to find anything that I even like the shape of

Every time someone points a dress out i just smile and say "oh its nice but I don't think its really me" when really in my head i'm screaming how horrid it is... and every bridal store I've been in tries to put me in strapless because that's 90% of what they have...
(then they realize that's just a stupid idea)

I'm getting so distressed with it and i really don't know what to do,
I'm almost in tears just thinking about it X(

When you say because of your boobs what do you mean>?

I thought this as I have a large ones , lol, but actually wedding dresses are the best bras invented!!! I had to have my top half altered to make it fit as the rest of me isn't quite as big, and I've had to put a corset back in as a zip or buttons wouldn't work at all. x

    Here comes the bride......

lol, i have a tiny ribcage (28/30) and my boobs are DD/E, I get quite self conscious about it so i cover them up

strapless dresses look weird on me, kinda like an upside down bookshelf, I dont want to end up looking like Jordan with a massive cleavage

Seriously hun I had this and then I found my one and only.

All I would say is ask for a double appointment and try on absolutely everything every colour every style every shape. You will find something and if it's the sample you can buy that.

    Good Luck sweetheart x

There are some really pretty lace dresses around with straps or covered tops- one by Justin alexander that is really nice but quit slim fitting 8600 or 8530 - but depends if you like lace....
Alan hannah has a really nice dress with straps - hepburn style but quite pricey!

I see what you mean, it's hard to tell what a dress will look when it's not fitted to your body shape as well... my boobs are huge and an odd shape and you can't see any cleavage with my dress at all. I did have to try a lot on though!!

Do try lots on and explain how you feel to the ladies in the shops, if they're good at their jobs they will know what to advise, they have women in of all shapes and sizes.

    Good luck hun xx

Sounds like you'd be more comfortable in something that's a bit more modest? How do you feel about your legs? You could go for something 50's inspired and wear a shorter tea length dress? They tend to have short sleeves and cover up the chest area. As do 70's inspired dresses but they're floor length and tend to be quite straight with flowey sleeves. Or maybe something medieval inspired?

Some different ideas to the traditional modern dresses anyway! Although they're things you're probably not going to find at a bridal shop.

I was the same - definitely didn't want a strapless dress. I just wouldn't have felt comfortable in one. I visited a couple of shops - and told them at the beginning that I didn't want strapless, gave them my budget, then tried everything that fell into that category. I was told that even with the strapless dresses, they can have detachable straps on them - but I didn't want that either.

I finished up with an off the shoulder dress and that definitely felt better. In fact my dress was officially classed as a Quinceanera (prom) dress - but shops get them in because they're very close to wedding dresses (5 layers of net, full skirt etc).

If you really haven't got any idea you want, tell the shop what you don't want - then at least you can work around that.

I've tried on about 20 or so strapless dresses (one of which i snapped the boning in) and none have looked right

also dresses that go straight across look weird too, one i tried on looked like i was trying to smuggle another person inside my boobs...

i'm going to try the factory outlet in Leicester, they've got about 700 style in stock at the moment and i'm gonna try my best to get through as many styles as i can

I hate feeling like this, it feels like i'm failing as a wife before I've even got there how pathetic is that,

I went in berkertex twice, once in Bristol and once at the national wedding show

both times the assistants were incredibly rude, I'd never recommend anyone going on there

I'm sure i'll find something, i'll just have to deal with feeling like an Alien until then

have you tried strapless dress with a small jacket over the top, i am a similar size to you and i found a strapless dress that was quite high at the front and amazingly it holds my chest in without a bra on and I put a small jacket over and it looked good x

It's great to say i get married this year September 1st 2012

Have you tried looking for a dress with maybe a bit of lace across the collar bone to cover the boobs. I am a similar size to you apart from the rib cage part. Maybe try a dress with more detail at the bottom part to draw the eyes away from your cleavage :)

I am a GG cup, but I've found a strapless dress in organza with lace on the bodice, which softens the look a lot more - the seamstress is going to slightly dip the neckline so it's more flattering on me so don't rule it out just yet! Maybe try an A-line dress with a less full skirt and some lace shoulder straps, I tried some lovely ones in the Bridal Room in Westbury, Mori Lee and Charlotte Balbier! Try that shop they're really helpful xx

why not look into finding a dress maker who might be able to make a dress to the exact style you want not sure how much it is but you could look into it xxxx

its more of the under boob that's a problem, i need the support of sturdy straps otherwise my boobs just... eat the dress

because i have such small ribs even when i have something higher on the bust it doesn't sit right mainly because we cant get the dress to sit flat against my ribcage before it goes over my boobs (nowhere as bad as Dolly Parton but ish)

the one woman who tried to pin the dress to my figure was when she snapped the boning in doing it, when i took the dress off we looked at it and the boning was bent at a right angle...

i might see if they have a v neck with thick straps...

I'll let you know how i get on anyway, all being well we might go up on Sunday

If it's support you're after, try Perfect Fit in Keynsham as I've heard they're a really good brassierie - it may be that without the right support you won't find a dress that sits right! I'd pop in tomorrow to get that before you go dress shopping :-)
