Help! I need some suggestions for home made canapes that I can serve our 80 guests at our drinks reception! I keep coming up blank! They need to be cheapish to make as I'll be doing them at home the day/morning before. Anyone???

Our venue is providing ours, as is part of our package...these are the ones we are having
Smoked Salmon Blinis with Sour Cream and Dill Cherry Tomato and Mozzarella on a Parmesan Biscuit with Pesto Olive Oil Bruschetta topped with Roasted Vegetables and Parmesan Shavings King Prawns wrapped in Mangetout with Sweet Chilli Dipping Sauce Mini Filo Cups filled with Quails Egg topped by a Hollandaise Dressing on a bed of Julienne Lettuce Cream Cheese and Crispy Bacon on Pumpernickel
Sure you could make some of them at home, or a version like it!?

The easiest thing to do to save you the hassle is to put out packet stuff like breadsticks, crisps, nuts and olives. For something fancier I'm not sure what you can do that would be served cold as most canapes I've have are generally served warm which means you'd need to be warming them up during the reception. I'm not that creative though, sorry xx

Your welcome :) Some sound fancy but look easy to make. Our venue does hot ones too but with making them the day before i'd stick with cold ones. We didnt want hot ones as getting married in August and hoping for a bit of sun. have you searched canapes on the net??
If you have access to an oven, you can do warm/hot ones easily by buying frozen breaded prawns and spring rolls (sorry I'm so Chinese) and then just let the oven do the work and if someone will take them out and pop on a platter for you so you can enjoy yourself that'd be a great solution :D xx

They're really yummy and easy to do. I always keep a box of the frozen prawns in my freezer just in case someone pops round for lunch and it's something easy to just pop in the oven to go with other picky food for a relaxed meal.
Chinese supermarkets are the best place to pick them up but most of the big supermarkets do them now as their frozen party food selections. x
