I really have no clue as to what music I should have at my wedding and my husband-to-be has even less idea lol. Im having a civil ceremony in a manor house and I need 4 pieces of music (as guests arrive, entrance of the bride, signing of the register and exit of the bride and groom). I also have no idea what music to have for our first dance but we both know that we want it to be a short song. Please leave me your ideas as im starting to stress out trying to get it sorted lol. X

Hey Lou, At my brothers wedding a few months ago he had a harp for all those entrances you spoke about and they even played outside while photos were being taken. I know this may seem an extra expense but it really set the mood for the wedding.
For your first dance choose a song you both love and dance to the first verse and chorus this is what me and H2B are thinking of doing xx
Good Luck xxx

aww bless, we were in a similar situation as you're not allowed to have any religeous words within any songs with lyrics. We took the easy way out and got a girl at work who is in a quartet for them to play lol I was advised that some registrars are more lenient than others though good luck x
This is hard to answer because it's so personal to you as a couple.
We chose songs that are important to us or the band is meaningful to us. We've gone down a very non-traditional route but it's a civil ceremony so that's ok.
I'll walk down the aisle to Jet - Are you gonna be my girl (because that's what h2b sang to himself when he first spotted me in a pub - I had big black boots, long brown hair and a stare :-)) and we'll exit together to The Black Keyes - Have love, will travel. It's our joint favourite band (we have other ones aswell individually) and I am not English but I built my life here for him - so we have love and we travel :-)
The song for signing the register and the first dance we haven't chosen yet, we're taking our time in thinking about it. We want them equally special but I don't think we'll bother with a song for people to arrive because 1 song won't be enough anyway....
It’s so great to find that one special person
you want to annoy for the rest of your life....

so far ive picked vivaldi to be played as the guests arrive, cos its in november i like the seasons pieces done by nigel kennedy, walking down the aisle i cant decide between traditional or runrig my all time favourite band but when were leaving as man and wife its gotta be highland cathedral by red hot chilli pipers, very stirring. although this may change ha ha ha xx
All the ways of my life id rather be with you.
Theres no way without you.

There are so many people out there who will tell you
what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

Glee destroyed my exit music last night :-( 'You make my dreams come true'. Well it wasn't that bad, but i'm such a huge Hall & Oates fan that to me it was sacrilege!!!
I'm also having Madness: 'It must be love'. I have a slushy entrance song though. Well I'm torn as I have two. One is a very famous wedding song by Angry Anderson: 'Suddenly' (Scott and Charlene!) And the other I found not long ago by Mike Schmid: 'Show you my love'. I love Suddenly, and I love Kylie, but it might be too obvious.

What does everyone think of Christina Perri - A Thousand Years (from Breaking Dawn) as a first dance??

Hi,
I'm going to have dire straits - Romeo and Juliet playing as the guests arrive, snow patrol- chasing cars for my entrance, Jackie Wilson - your love is lifting me higher for the register signing and the wannadies - you and me song for exiting.
All of these are personal in one way or another to us and were picked because of that.cx
About to marry the man of my dreams
Bring on 15/9/2012!!
