Well I had really not thought about a Hen do until one of the bms bought it up.

Her ideas were well hum not my cup of tea, she use to be a bit of a chav, is very pink and girly, is into completely different music than me (I have not really sure what is popular at the moment but I think she is into R&B) and loves to party. Her ideas were clubbing with pink feather boas, tutus and pink dil#$ wands, not my idea of fun at all!!! She is a sweetie though and her heart is in the right place : )

I on the other hand am a wee bit of a tomboy at times, I cannot be bothered with clubs any more, I am into heavy metal and goth rock music, I like a drink, and what most fellers would consider a fun stag do would be more my thing like paint balling or car racing etc but my female friends are a real mixed bunch with a few girly ones, a few shy ones, maybe 1 or 2 are tomboys, a few party mad and I have quite a few older friends. about 70% of my friends are into heavy mental music but the rest are pretty much anti heavy mental music.

I even will be having one feller there who is a bm and one of my best friends (most of my friends are blokes but I think its mean to make them suffer as well).

So I need something that is well not too expensive and does not involve a stripper, rude wands or anything luminescent pink (vom) -
but will keep my bms happy so they feel like it was a real hen do.

If I had to dress up though I would of liked corsets : ) and it would be funny to see some of my more prudish friends try and sort that sort of costume, but that seems like a bad idea.

I almost want to say no to them as it seems like so much effort!!!!

For the past year I have been a part time carer for my disabled mum so unless I book well in advance so my can get her day time carers to stay over night and cover me, I have to really be in my 11 pm on the weekends so I kind of have forgotten what it is to go out, having been to 1 pub crawl, 3 house parties/get togethers, gone on a 5 day camping holiday and spent 1 night in a HIExpress in Manchester in the last year, so my idea of fun seems to be a bottle or 2 of wine while watching a movie.

My goodness just looking at what I have written makes me see how much of a difficult one this is, might as well press post and see if anyone has any ideas : )

If you want to go paint balling why not? It's your hen and it should be about you. I've done things that are not my cup of tea before when one of my friends have had a hen. That would mean you are back for 11. Or a pub crawl in the day? Will keep thinking x x

I should be okay to have a carer cover the night, so don't think I will need to be back for 11pm for once - though they are still moaning that they will have to cover my honeymoon, but tough cookies :p

The HD will probably will be in July, I usually give them at least 6-8 weeks notice min

They should not be moaning, what you do is a very good but hard job and everyone needs a holiday now and again. Is your mum going into respite when you are away? If you have the night you have a lot more ideas to play with x x

I'm going on my friends hen do in august and she has chose to do quad biking and glamping! she is more of an outdoors type of a chick but then girly at the same time. the glamping for 1 night has cost £20 each and then the quad biking i think is £35. most of our friends are all girly but we are so excited to be doing something different. plus on the night i guess we will either cook a meal in the tipee thing or have a bbq and a few games. cheap and excting. xx

I like the idea of glamping, never thought about that : )

BBQ and booze I think would hold up well with most of my friends

    Glamping sounds great :)

My hens are also a pretty mixed bunch, so we've booked a cottage in Whitby for three nights,it's costing £38 per head.
But if you're restricted to one night, glamping sounds ideal. I was not to keen on a night round town as half of my hens are 'pint in a pub' types like me, and have are clubbers. Plus, pricing it up you can easily spend £100 plus on a big night out!

One of my friends just had her hendo at a mates house. It sounds a bit dull but actually worked well....she had a BBQ and a garden party and everyone bought there own drink and games and a little something to eat, and they had a big sleepover later.

    Xx

I don't think they should be moaning either, looking and caring for your mum must be a very tough job for you to do because it's so personal but you deserve some time for yourself as well, even more so for your wedding, hen do and honeymoon, I think that's downright cheeky of them tbh!!

It all sounds fab,the ideas tho xx

GGGGRRRR suggested the glamping to one of my friends today who happens to be the wimpiest of them all and straight away she said not really her thing. May have to get opinions of others but right now I don't care about 1 no, will have to get a vote I think

Aw hun, it sounds like a headache. But it's YOUR hen do so do what you want. You could split it into two? Do an activity during the day eg paintballing for those that want to and then go out for drinks in a nice bar later on that day for the girly girls? And if you want to do corsets, do it ;) They should be trying to make you happy not the other way round. Sounds like you spend a lot of time putting your Mum first, rightly so, now it's your turn :) My wtb went for a cheap tenerife hol with her two besties whereas I am off to Zed events- a 3 hour long zombie apocolypse survival experience at an abandoned Manor House!! I don't do drinking heavy and at least I'll remeber it, and possibly have nightmares ;) Bottom line, you can't please everyone so find something that you will enjoy x
