Nicola, mym72 was married in Gretna Green and might be a good point of contact of information for you. I've bumped these two threads for you: Mym72's Gretna Green Wedding Recap, "Mrs Parkins saying hi..!!!!!" & a general thread, "Getting Married in Gretna Green"
Yeah we got married up there. We used the Gretna Wedding Bureau for booking a lot of the things (venue, minister, photography etc) but also booked our own things separately as well (cake, transport, accommodation, hotel etc).
We got married at Gretna Hall. They have three venues there, depending on how many guests you have. We had the Linton Suite as there were just 19 of us for our wedding. We had no complaints whatsoever about the venue or the people - in fact I don't think we've ever met people so friendly and approachable.
The Bureau organised a minister for us, as we didn't want the 'rigid' dog collar and gown type. We finished up with a minister from the Assemblies of God church in Dumfries (Sandy Jamieson) and not a dog collar in sight (but still the religious ceremony) lol.
Our reception venue was the Solway Lodge hotel and again the wedding co-ordinator (Iain) was so friendly and couldn't do enough to help (even for local contacts for anything we needed). We ordered our transport from near Dumfries as well (a vw camper) and because it was a local Gretna wedding we got a really good deal (£250).
Hope all that helps, but just ask if you want to know anything else x

My brother got married at Anvil Hall by candle light - it was the most romantic and intimate wedding i've ever been to. Not pretty from the outside but inside it was great, they have an optional live webcam too :) We had a small reception at smiths hotel which was ok, but a bit too modern for my liking :)

I got married at Gretna last Saturday 28 sep We had a wonderful day and got married at The world Famous Blacksmiths, we did everything through the gretna wedding bureau Ceremony, cake, photos ,cars reception, flowers. I would thoroughly recommend it. It was virtually stress free and everything went like a dream and all first class service, if you have a look on my profile you can see some photo's. If you need any help or are unsure about anything just ask x We had our reception at the Gretna Chase hotel the food was gorgeous highly recommended.

We were going to get married at Anvil Hall (which is beautiful !!!!) and reception at Gretna Chase which has an amazing bridal suite.. We were going to go through Gretna Wedding Bureau which was amazing price.. We went up there and looked and loved it but I decided I couldn't get married without my family who not all could have afforded to get up there xxx
