I know there is! I think the key is to pick a theme and stick to it! Mine is rustic woodland so lots of logs,pinecones,ivy,greenery...sunflowers... We're having browns, sage green and yellows, really earthy colours, big twig type centrepieces, simple cake etc x

Sounds lovely :-) I have the colour lilac but not really a theme but figured since it's not long after March, I could use items from valentine's day for favours so go for hearts? I am not very good at all this!x

    Welcome to UK Bride.

I get married 25th May 2014 and have done a few bits and pieces. Mainly because me and the H2B ar so laid back that nothing would get done and we would get to the 24th May 2014 and be like ....... "are we supposed to be doing something tomorrow!?" lol.

    So far we have:

    Booked venue and paid deposit
Ordered my dress, veil and tiara
    Booked Photographer and paid deposit
Booked the equivalent of a Photo Booth and paid deposit
Registered with J.Lewi5 for our gift list
Brought all centre piece decoration bits
    Started to make invites
    Shoes purchased

We have vague ideas for other things but just doing bits here and there. I work in a school so each half term we try and tick a few bits off. In the half term coming up the plan is to try and get bridesmaid dresses, cake ideas/quotes, suit quotes hopefully pay a deposit somewhere for that and give notice.

    Hello all

I have just signed up to this forum but am not exactly sure how they work or whether I am supposed to post my queries here?

I am getting married in Sept 2014 and have recently booked the venue and paid over a deposit. We don't have a theme as such but more a colour scheme which is royal blue. I have started looking at ideas for the centerpieces and quite like slim vases with orchids submersed in water. The orchids I have seen are more of a turquoise and purple mix though- does this matter or do I need to go for delphiniums or something similar which are closer to my main color scheme? Also, can anyone recommended a florist that covers venues in Berkshire?

    Thanks

    Heather

Congratulations on setting the date, sounds like you are well on schedule :) If you have your venues booked then you only have another 500 things to decide :)

Hi Claire, I've also been engaged for 5 1/2 years and we're getting married on 13th September 2014. We've just got to officially book the village hall for our venue now then we can make a start on everything else!
