Years ago I had my legs waxed. I seem to remember they dont get silky smooth?

Question is do I wax for the wedding and honeymoon?

    Thinking underarms legs an bikini?

I normally shave but obv it where bikini is it looks like you've got some dodgy disease after all red n bumpy :-S and it doesn't last.

Hair removal cream doesn't work on me.

    What's everyones experience of waxing?

I've had my bikini line waxed in the past and it's awesome. I tended to get mine done a couple of days before 'needed' as it then gives it enough time to calm down. But make sure you exfoliate well, and take a pair of tweezers with you in case of ingrowing hairs - ouch! My top tip is to take a couple of ibuprofen before having a wax. It really helps with the pain.

I was thinking about getting my underarms done..

The cream works fine for me on bikini line and shaving my legs doesn't bother me..

I've never waxed so bit apprehensive xxx

I've never waxed before but wanted to give it a go before we went on holiday last year, never got round to it but think it's something I'd do before the wedding... I also need to work out how to get a nice tan for the wedding... do I attempt fake or sun bed :/

Do not get underarms done, a few of my friends did beauty therapy and they all had to have it done to know what its like an as far as i can tell its the worst.

Ive never had trouble with waxing besides being to shy to be like I want it all gone!!

I only ever had my legs waxed once and I wasnt too impressed by the results as I still had to shave the small hairs, which is kind of the point.
    LMAO @ dodgy desease :D

I always get my bikini line done before going on hols and I had mine done 2 days before the wedding, I should have had them done more like 4 days before so it had time to calm down. by the time we went on holiday it had calmed down and was lovely :-)

I get all bumpy and rashy too but and it takes a few days to calm down, i find that if i do it myself it always take longer to calm down and also i end up bruising im some areas..
I know how to wax but i'm just not very good at it and the whole ripping off part really needs psyching up in order for me to do it haha!
I would go get it done professionally as it will be done properly and will probably last longer too. Also if you go over a part too much it will bruise so you could avoid that. The only thing i'm willing to wax myself is my lady mustache lol!!!!

    Good luck!!

I'm not expert with this stuff, as I'm naturally very light blonde, and have virtually no body hair (and what I do have is not visible). I shave my armpits though lol. Feel your pain though. Waxing sounds brutal, do people not shave anymore, or is it not very effective?

I shave my underarms, but don't normally bother with anything else. I don't swim that often, and that's the only time my legs are on show. I did try waxing at home once, just out of curiosity, and found that it wasn't that bad. I think it depends on how much hair there is though. I will definitely shave my underarms for the wedding, as my dress is strapless, but otherwise I don't think I'll bother.

I was always an avid shaver - hate having hairy legs to the point I'd run the razor over my legs during every morning shower just in case. My hairdresser then convinced me to give waxing a go so I resisted the urge to shave for a couple of weeks and went back to the salon. I didn't find it painful at all, in fact it actually tickled and I was laying there giggling the entire time until she got to the bikini area... that was a little painful. I was really disappointed with the result as there were still a number of smaller hairs which I still had to go over with the razor. I went back a few more times to really give waxing a chance but it definitely isn't for me.
I too got the 'diseased' look around the bikini area and found that exfoliating helps.
I recently came accross the hair removal pads which I am loving - small circular motions in one direction removes the hair and in the other it exfoliates the skin. I've found that it's not as effective on the bikini and underarm areas as it is on the legs and upper lip as there are still the occasional hairs left behind but the skin is super smooth and the bikini area bumps have now disappeared entirely. Apparently the hair removal results can last up to 6 weeks for some people but for me its just a few days before I feel the need to do something about the stubble... either I'm very hairy or just am just a little OCD when it comes to stubble.
I think its worth giving the waxing a go now to see if its for you and if not then you can always give other methods a go. I would recommend the pads for the exfoliation benefits even if you would rather have the hairs removed in a different way.

I get my underarms waxed once a month and I don't find it painful at all! I get my bikini line done when I go on holiday and it is so worth it!

I have my legs and underarms waxed in warmer months. I had both done 2days before my wedding, so the red bumps had a chance to go down.
Waxing, In my opinion, isn't painful -its just a little uncomfortable :-)

I'm going to start going for waxes 'down there' again soon so my body can get used to it again and I look nice by thr wedding!! I find the first few times I'm quite blotchy or 'dotty' but after a few times it's fine.
I want my underarms waxed, never have before.. Same with legs,
