    good luck all depends on his ex if she will let it move through quickly my ex didn't want to divorce me so it took 2 1/2 years to get done, my friend it took 6 months as they both agreed good luck

    Depends how easy they want to make it. It can take months or years depending on whats involved financially etc.

    You can do the forms yourself and just pay the court fees (can't remember how much). It depends on the grounds too.

    It's worth looking on the yougov website and it will guide you what is needed. You don't always need a solicitor.

    My parents were civil so it didn't involve any courts (which is the costly bit) and they got divorced in about 5-6 months x x

    my parents hav just got divorced like kirsty said its the courts that cost n i think i depends my parents did it in bout 8 months with the divorce n settlement was tricky all messying bout signing forms sending them back forth wi the solicitors messying things up n mother not turning up n that glad its over now .x

    If both parties are willing to cooperate and there are no joint assets then it's much more straight forward than if there is a house, joint possessions or children involved.

    Some solicitors offer the initial meeting free, so I would take one up on that and ask them.
